In Italy's Lodgings in |
![]() |

| Welcome to In Italy Online! No one knows Italy like we do! We were the Internet's first site about Italy, and with over 4000 pages of information about where to go and what to see, we're also the biggest. Our Italy experts will help you plot the best itinerary, find the lodgings best suited to you, and make sure you get the room you want. Unlike big automated websites, we are human beings and we know the hosts at every single property on our site. We have been friends with most of them for years, and this means that In Italy Online's guests are always VIPs. We will always do our best to get the exact room you want. You will never be downgraded to the worst room in the house (which is pretty standard when you book through those impersonal sites). You will never be sent to a "similar" hotel on the other side of town. And we provide local reps in case you need back-up assistance. When browsing our site, remember that we human beings are here to assist you! Several hundred pages of comments from happy In Italy Online guests attest to this: click here to read just a few of them. And if you're new to our site, please take a few moments to learn how to book with us and why to book with us. |

Is
there anyone on earth who doesn’t dream of visiting Tuscany? What is it
that attracts so many people to this magical land? Is it perhaps the ineffable
combination of nature’s splendor and man’s handiwork, which co-exist
in a way rarely viewed elsewhere? Drive along the winding farm roads and you
will see one ancient estate after another, hillsides and valleys and peaks where
it is almost impossible to tell where nature leaves off and man steps in. Did
some 16 th-century architect design that long driveway to fit between two perfectly
aligned rows of cypress, or were the trees planted afterward? And how is it possible
that someone planted a silvery olive grove, a coppery vineyard and a deep green
live oak stand in such a way that, over the course of 500 years, they would grow
into a perfect, seamless patchwork? As countless authors have told us, you can
drive down the same Tuscan road twice a day for a lifetime and never stop feeling
the rush of amazement and joy caused by its beauty. And then there are the towns!
Cortona and San Gimignano, Siena and Lucca, Montepulciano and Montalcino, Pisa
and Arezzo and of course, the mighty capital (some say the seat of European civilization
itself), Florence. Goldsmiths still practice their craft and sell their wares
out of the same tiny stalls on the Ponte Vecchio that were created in the 1400s.
Everywhere you look in this region, your eyes fall upon the greatest achievements
of nature and of man, living peacefully side-by-side waiting to enthrall you
around every bend.
