Dear InItaly,
Thanks for you email - it has been a month and a half since our return from Italy and we are still talking about it to anyone who will listen. Despite living in the UK we had never travelled to Italy before and we both fell in love with the country and the people.
We used the train. On the suggestion of my wife's brother-in-law, we booked all our tickets in advance. We went First Class and in total our 5 train journeys cost £130 for the 2 of us (£65 each - you could hardly get one First Class 3 hour train journey for this price in the UK!). The trains were all on time & our reserved seats clearly marked - it was a joy to travel. We also found that Italian buses too are reliable and very cheap - 45 minute bus journey from Lenno to Como (all down one side of the lake so great views) cost under 5 Euros for both my wife & I.
Florence Art Hotel is really well placed just round the corner from the main square. The hotel is full of art - pictures, sculptures etc... We had a room on the 3rd floor and, whilst the room was stunningly furnished the walls were very thin so you could hear a lot from corridors & neighbouring rooms. Breakfast was satisfactory but the choice limited and there is no evening restaurant in the hotel. The hotel is quite enclosed so there are no rooms (as far as I could see) that commanded any outside views. There is a small roof terrace from which you can get some views over the Florence rooftops. I recommend a walk to the Fort Belvedere late afternoon/early evening (it is a bit of a climb) but to watch the sun set over Florence from the top is a beautiful site.
All in all we had a wonderful 18 night Northern & Central Italy tour. It was relaxing but also exhilarating - leaving us wanting more. Initaly - your website and hotel details were very accurate & we thank you for all the help you gave us. We will be using you again - probably to book our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Venice in March of 2008. Any recommendations?

Dear In Italy,
We stayed at the Florence Art Hotel. Overall, the experience was great. The room was clean and decorated nicely. If someone stays in this hotel, don't miss the terrace with an awesome view. Location couldn't be better! Hotel service was also friendly and helpful.
Thanks!

Dear Folks,
We had a wonderful time in Italy! Our stay at the Florence Art Hotel was fabulous. It is so modern that there are instructions when you check in! It was delightful to sample the chic side of Florence, while visiting the ancient aspects. Thank you for all your help – every thing went without a hitch! Our driver was awaiting at the airport, the hotel staff was friendly, and the hotel a delight!!
Sincerely yours,
Suzanne D.
Dear In Italy,
We had the most amazing time in Italy. I have been wanting to go to the motherland
for years, and finally made the first of many more trips to come.
We flew into Rome, rented a car, and drove to Florence for two nights.
The only thing that stunk was finding the hotel. We got into Florence ok, but
then spent another hour and a half driving around trying to locate the hotel.
Just is a bit confusing.
Our hotel, the Florence Art Hotel, was absolutely amazing. The rooms were wonderful,
clean, and very cool looking. Not to mention, the hotel was located near everything,
which made it easy to get around. On our second night, I had an extra special
surprise. My boyfriend took me to La Loggia, a wonderful restaurant on the hill,
which overlooks Florence. The food is great, the view is even better, and the
staff is quite attentive. After dinner my boyfriend took me out to the balcony,
and proposed. Between the beautiful weather, food, the view, and the wonderful
company, it couldn't have been a better evening.
Drove back to Rome for 3 nights. Again, driving on the Autostrade was easy, but
once we got into Rome, it was another hour before finding the hotel.
It was surprisingly easy to walk to pretty much everything that Rome has to offer.
The history and architecture was awesome. And, be careful not to overdose on
gelato.
Thanks for making our trip wonderful. I look forward to booking another
trip to Italy with you.

Dear In Italy,
Just wanted to thank you for your website and how helpful it was in planning my Italian trip. I booked two hotels through you, the Hotel Abbazia in Venice and the Florence Art Hotel and both were great. The staff at both hotels was very helpful in providing us with maps, directions and suggestions. Everything went off without a hitch. The only strange thing amiss was at the Florence Art Hotel - our room and portions of the hotel had a distinctly sewerish odor and we actually had to have the staff come and put air fresheners in our room so we could bear it. To be fair I think this is a "Florence" problem since we smelled this odor in a couple of retail stores as well. It must come and go - but other than that the hotel is beautifully done and modern, well located and with nice amenities.
Thanks for all the information on your site. Bookings were replied to immediately and your staff is very efficient.

Hello,
We were very impressed with staying at the Florence Art Hotel, which I booked through your website. It just opened about 6 months ago, and it was extremely clean, reasonably priced (we were able to take advantage of the 5th night free), in a great location and the people who served the free breakfast were very pleasant. I actually just recommended this hotel (and your website) to one of my co-workers, whom will be going to Italy in October.
All in all, fantastic trip with memories that we will never forget (good thing
we captured all this moments on camera, too!).
Regards,
Deborah M.
