This charming small hotel occupies one of the most historical buildings on the island and is just perfect for those who wish to experience Capri with the fewest logistical problems possible. That's because it is literally within steps of the ferry and hydrofoil docks as well as the funicolare which goes up to Capri Town. If you're planning to use Capri as a base for day trips to the Amalfi Coast, Naples, Pompeii and the Blue Grotto, this bright, cheerful and pretty boutique hotel, entirely renovated in 2000, might be the best choice for your holiday.

Rooms: 27, including doubles and superior doubles. Classic Double Rooms have two twin beds or one king bed and face the interior. Double Rooms with Sea View are the same, but they also have a balcony or terrace with views across the Bay of Naples. Superior rooms have a balcony or terrace with sea view, plus a sitting area that can be converted to have one single bed for an adult or a double sleep sofa for two children.
   
   
Features: All the rooms are soundproof and have hand-painted Vietri ceramic tile floors, air conditioning, central heating, direct-dial telephone, wireless Internet access, mini-bar, safe, and satellite TV, as well as a private bathroom with hair dryer, excellent Frette courtesy set, bathrobes, oversized sink and bathtub with glass door.
