San Cassiano

We are very proud to offer you rooms in this extremely historical Venetian hotel. An authentic 14th-century gothic mansion set right on the Grand Canal, it was home to some of the city’s better known families, including that of the well-known 19th-century painter Giacomo Favretto. Eventually, in the 1950s, it became a pensione. Today it is a small, charming 3-star hotel furnished with priceless Venetian antiques, Murano chandeliers, stucco ceilings and terrazzo tile floors, and enriched by stunning views of the Canal. Thanks to its size, the warmth of the staff and the atmosphere of the rooms, it truly feels like the aristocratic Venetian home that it has been for centuries.

Location: In the heart of Venice, right across the canal from the famed Ca’ D’Oro, about 15 minutes' walk from St. Mark's and five minutes from Rialto Bridge. Canal views here are the quintessential ones seen in paintings and films. Click here to see a map.

Public Transportation: The San Stae vaporetto stop is about five minutes' walk away.

Rooms: 35 rooms, including singles, doubles, triples, quads and 10 that offer Grand Canal views. Triples and quads have a queen-size bed and one or two single day beds. All rooms have private bathrooms.

Features: Air conditioning, double-glazed windows, color satellite TV, direct-dial telephone with Wi-Fi (3 Euro/card), mini-bar, and safe. Bathrooms in single rooms have a stall shower while all others have a bathtub with wall shower (hair dryers in all).

Facilities: Charming balcony on the Canal with two tables for breakfast or cocktails, frescoed breakfast room where a hot and cold buffet with fresh juice and cappuccino is served. There is no elevator.
