Florentine Palazzo's Guestbook

Back to Florentine Palazzo

Dear Kristin,

A note to thank you for representing and recommending the Florentine Palazzo . We greatly enjoyed our stay in mid September and can only say that it was absolutely as represented, if not more. Wonderful location, great and helpful staff and ambiance. The rooftop patio was quite exceptional.

Regards,
Jim W.

Dear Jessica,

We really enjoyed Eva as our guide in Rome. She was great with our 7 year old Samantha.

The Florentine Palazzo had a wonderful view from the rooftop terrace, but the air conditioning worked very poorly. Given that, we would probably not stay there again during the hot months, but otherwise a great place.

Dear Kirill,

Highlights of our trip were many. In Florence we liked the Florentine Palazzo with the stunning views from the breakfast room and terraces. It was very well located and the garage service was terrific - prompt and friendly when you need your car. The staff was lovely and helpful when needed.

Our tour guide for the 4 hour Vatican tour was exceptionally knowledgeable and knew how to keep us in the quiet part of the human traffic flow. Friends recommended your site and this service to us and said that the price of a private tour was well worth it. We concur. I have never ever seen lines like there were at the Vatican anywhere. The guide service has a person go early to secure a front place in line so that when you arrive at opening time you are very quickly inside. If we had it to do over again we would have booked someone for the Roman ruins which are fascinating but completely unmarked. A guide would have really made this come to life.

We so enjoyed your site. You offer so much information and tips and some very funny reading about driving. We have to add that the worst thing about driving for us was finding roads that were sometime unmarked. In Rome we had a Mapquest printout that was perfect but some of the roads mentioned were impossible to find in traffic. They turned out to be so small as to be "Places" more than roads so that it is important to study your directions. You may find that you see the 3rd turn on your list and never turns 1 and 2. The key is to take your time. Believe me, they will go around you.

Thanks again for providing such a great site. We have already recommended you to our friends.

Dear Kristin,

We loved the hotel - Florentine Palazzo. It was in a marvelously central position - very comfortable with good views over the roofs to the Duomo. Thank you for the recommendation. We had a very good weekend and are looking forward to returning.

Hi,

We did, indeed, have a marvelous trip to Italy. The last night we spent in Tuscany was at an absolutely stunning hotel that you booked for us, the Florentine Palazzo. The room was heavenly, the location perfect, and the view priceless. We got some gorgeous photos of the Duomo at night, all lit up. It was a special view that we probably couldn't have had anywhere else. Thank you for the suggestion. If we ever find our way back to Florence, it will be my first choice on where to stay.

In addition, I sang InItaly.com's praises to every English speaker that I saw, which were many. One woman from Australia with whom we chatted wrote down the website and decided to try to use your services for some of her other activities, as she had a longer stay in Italy than we did. Should we be so lucky as to return to Italy, I will not hesitate to make use of your services again, nor will I have any trouble recommending your services. In fact, my boss, who will be going to Italy later this month, has already been told about your fabulous help, website and suggestions.

Now if you could only have done something about the weather.... SMILE!

Kristin:

Just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed Florentine Palazzo. It is in a great location, and the people are really helpful and friendly. We had a large interior room that was quiet, with a balcony over looking the Duomo. Incidentally, the desk is now open from 8am to 8pm. We had stayed at Duomo Palace last October and thought that though not as elegant, FP has its own charms that make it just as good a place to stay.

My wife and I have used In Italy a number of times now and have never been the least disappointed with any of your services; from accommodations to advance tickets for museums, things to do etc. you do a great job.

Thanks
Mike S.

Dear Jessica,

We just returned from our wonderful honeymoon in Italy and could not have been more pleased with the hotels we booked through your site. All three hotels knew we were honeymooners and treated us to some treasures during our stay.

Our favorite hotel by far was Florentine Palazzo. Knowing we were honeymooners, they upgraded us to a Superior Double at no extra charge! What a bonus! We had a great view of the Duomo from our room and spent much time in the enclosed patio on the fifth floor reading as it was quite cold outside. The views were outstanding. We found the desk staff VERY knowledgeable and helpful. They booked us dinner reservations at two excellent restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. One, Nanamuta, was fabulous and well-worth the cold 15 minute walk. The Italian cuisine was innovative. You MUST try their fried bread with prosciutto appetizer! I still dream of it today. This hotel is quite special.

Upon your recommendation, we booked a car for a whole week while we were in Italy and found the driving to be very manageable (minus some minor scares in La Spezia). The price was excellent even when we had to pay for an additional day as we were late returning the car to the downtown Florence office as the location had moved.

Thank you so much for making our Italian honeymoon exceptional!

Dear Julie,

Italy was wonderful. The place we stayed in Florence was like no other hotel I've ever stayed at. Top 3 floors of the building was the hotel with small reception desk on ground floor. In between were offices, etc. Great view from veranda on top of the river and 360 of central Florence. The place is right off the river and a few blocks from Uffizi (sp?) and Ponte Vecchio (sp?). Breakfast was included and it was typical Italian. They have an 'honesty bar' on the veranda where you can watch the sunset and have a drink at the end of the day. Our room and bathroom was spacious and clean with antique type furniture. We were by the street and it was noisy.

Thanks!

Dear Jessica,

Florentine Palazzo was a wonderful way to start our trip in Florence. It is a lovely property that is situated right in the heart of the shopping district and minutes from the Duomo. Our room was very large and very nicely appointed. Housekeeping was excellent and the room was absolutely immaculate. We especially enjoyed the beautiful views from the rooftop, and the nice breakfast served there every morning. Travelers should be aware that the reception desk is only open from 8:30 am - 8:00 pm. This did not present a problem for us and I would definitely stay there again.

Dear Julie,

My wife and I had a wonderful trip to Florence. As always. The only thing to complain a little about was the fact that we had snow. We hoped to get away from the snow here in Norway and not going to it. But no one is of course to blame. But it was strange to drive in 30 km/hour over Appenines to Bologna on very slippery and snowy roads. But talking about treasures. Our treasure was to drive to Panzano, Greve, Lamole and see Vignamaggio, the impressive place where Mona Lisa is said to have lived.

And have a bruschetta and a glass of chianti classico at the market square in Greve. In Florence we did all the must-things; Boboli, Pitti, Uffizi (oh so good to be there without the endless queuing.) We also had a good dinner at Enoteca Pinchiorri, but to be very honest it will be the last time. Everything was excellent..... but the price! It is interesting that we had a fantastic meal at a guide Michelin restaurant in Bologna called Bitone for a third of the price. And the standard there was all really excellent. Included was also two bottles of emilia romanga wine that we brought with us. The atmosphere and service was marvelous and we had a really good time talking with the chef and other guests.

Another treasure is the golf course between Florence and Greve called Ugolino. We played there with "winter greens" and they are rebuilding the courses, but it was a very nice experience.

A little treasure as to restaurants in Florence was Mamma Gina, in Oltrarno. Five minutes from the hotel. Very good service, good food, a very good wine list and reasonably priced. We liked it so much that we went back there two times.

Fiorentino Palazzo was an excellent hotel. Beautiful rooms, much space with nice bathroom facilities. Nice and clean, good textiles, and a breathtaking view to wake up with from the bed. The Duomo just a stone throw away. The only little thing to make a remark about is that the beds were a little hard. But so what!!!

A good breakfast, a nice bar area with honesty bar and lots of other things. We loved the place. I hope that this was a good answer to your mail, and we will be back at In Italy later. We already plan an agroturismo tour. So we will be back!!!

Best regards
Ottar S.

As new users of InItaly, we were very pleased with the assistance in booking our hotel. We will use your site again and recommend it to friends.

As for the property, we found that it lived up to its description. During our stay, we were actually in 2 different rooms, a superior double and a standard double. The superior, facing away from the street, was very quiet, the second faced the street and therefore had some mild traffic noise, though we did not find it an impediment to our sleep. Our rooms were spacious and clean. The mattresses firm and the temperature controls were modern. Although we had balconies with both rooms we actually spent much more time enjoying the view from the rooftop balcony. It is no exaggeration to state that this is one of the nicest balconies/patios in Florence. The views of the city looking toward the Duomo are spectacular. Breakfast is served there or in the adjacent indoor sunroom according to the weather.

Hotel staff are only on site from around 8am to 8pm, however, we did not find this to be a problem. The desk staff were very very helpful with calling taxis or securing restaurant reservations. The hotel's location is ideal for accessing Central Florence and the Oltrarno area. We would definitely stay there again on a future visit.

Dear Kirill,

The Florentine Palazzo was a beautiful hotel. The rooms were spacious and the balconies were huge. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our only complaints here were that construction was underway during our stay and the air conditioning didn't work well in either of the two rooms we tried. We didn't sleep well during our stay here and that sort of puts a damper on sightseeing the next day. The staff was extremely apologetic and I think things will improve once construction is done. They were rushing the construction so much that they didn't put up "wet paint" signs much to my disappointment because my new khaki pants now have paint on them. I do believe that things will run more smoothly once the work is completed and would stay there again with the assurance of good, cold air at night and no construction work being done.

Thank you for all of your wonderful information about Italy on your website. We would recommend your site to anyone and cannot wait to begin planning our next trip to Italy.

Sincerely,
Frank and Amy P.

Hello!

We spent the last 4 nights at the Florentine Palazzo, and found everything to be delightful! The room was beautiful; the view was outstanding; the location was perfect; and the staff was friendly, gracious and extremely helpful.

I highly recommend it and would stay here again on our next visit to Florence.

If I can give further information, please write.
