Dear Julie,
We had a great trip to Tuscany and I can say that the hotel was absolutely fabulous. The views were spectacular and we did not miss the fact that it did not have a balcony. We only ate one night in the restaurant and we found that the food was good and service as also good. We loved this hotel and would certainly go back to it. One thing only is that the 10 minute walk into town would only suit a mountain goat, as it was so steep and I most certainly did not want to try it in heels when I went out for the evening and I only have small heels on my shoes! However, we found an underground car park which was a five minute drive up into the town and was very reasonably priced. We also found two superb restaurants in Volterra (a lovely town, in fact one of the nicest in the area); Osteria dei Poeti, Via Giacomo Matteotti 55- fabulous food reasonably priced and Trattoria del Sacco Fiorentino, Piazza XX Settembre 18 - this was also reasonably priced and lovely selection of food & wine. We did visit Florence and went via coach from a town that was close by and the hotel staff were very helpful with this. Florence was very busy with very long lines to wait for everything! The day we were there the Uffizi Gallery was fully booked and they were only taking bookings for the next day! Next time I will visit Florence in Spring or Autumn as it may give us a chance to see things better. Siena was lovely! What we really enjoyed was exploring the little mountain villages and some were very charming. We loved Tuscany and would certainly go back again as one week was not enough to see everything.

Hello
Thank you for your email, we have an amazing holiday, following my son round to the different cathedrals, where he was singing with his college. The hotel we stayed at in Volterra was absolutely first class. They surpassed themselves on every level. As we had early starts, they laid special breakfast early for us. When I became lost on the way back from Cortona, they talked me home and even (at 4 am!) came out and found me to bring us back to the hotel. The staff were friendly, professional and very efficient. The rooms and pool were very clean and well maintained. The restaurant service and food were superb and surrounding views were breathtaking. As you can imagine, I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Tuscany.
The roads, I am afraid, I found very difficult, signs in two directions for the same place,no signs for where I wanted to go on any of the maps I used. Crazy drivers, down on your bumper (and I do not drive slowly). The motorway badly signposted if you did not know what to look for and even then youcould sail off into the sunset.
I would not hesitate to use your company again and thank you for the service provided.
Regards,
Susan P.
Dear Julie,
We had a fantastic time in Volterra! The hotel was beautiful & worked out well since we were travelling with our 2 yr old son. He loved the pool, and we really appreciated that they had a crib set up in the room when we got there. One negative was the breakfast. I had my tastebuds set on a real italian cappuccino, and unfortunately, they just had a tacky machine at the end of the breakfast buffet.
Also, it's not necessarily a "short" walk to town, especially with a baby in tow, or if you were not in excellent health. It was a good 20 minute walk up VERY steep hills to get there. We were expecting a short stroll, and instead, had a sweaty climb each day. It would have been nice just to know ahead of time.
Volterra was one of the most charming little towns we have been to in italy. Food was great, cute shops, and lots of history. It was fantastic!!
Thanks,
Sarah G.
Hello,
Returned to England last night. Had a very good stay at Volterra. Would recommend the Hotel Park Le Fonti to potential clients. Good well-furnished hotel, excellent efficient staff & good facilities. We ate in the restaurant which was also excellent.

Dear Julie,
We just returned from three weeks in Tuscany and took advantage of two properties that you offer. Both exceeded our expectations; you clearly do a great job of screening you properties. Park Hotel Le Fonti is just below the ancient city walls of Volterra and commands a terrific location on a hillside overlooking the surrounding valleys. It has a beautiful pool, excellent restaurant, and friendly staff. We had not visited Volterra before and found it refreshing because it is an actually functioning medieval city, as opposed to a city restored primarily for the tourists. You provide an excellent service! Keep up the good work.

David,
We did have a marvelous time in Italy. We spent three weeks total and loved every minute of it.
We spent two days at the Park Hotel Le Fonti in Volterra as you know. We found the hotel to be everything described on your website. The modern facility was welcome after spending time in less accommodative but still enjoyable villas in Chianti and Lucca. We found the hotel staff to be particularly helpful and courteous. The hotel is in an excellent location on the hill leading to the walled city of Volterra. We found the food excellent and the dining room staff most attentive and helpful. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in that area. It is convenient to the coast as well as San Gimignano and Colle Val D'Elsa. We also took a daytrip down the coast to visit the ancient village of Popolonia and took the ferry over to Isola D'Elba.
