Hotel Marconi's Guestbook

Back to Hotel Marconi

Dear In Italy,

The Marconi Hotel is just great.  Great, helpful and friendly staff.  Located as it is right on the Grand Canal, near the Rialto Bridge, it's just a great place to set up base for exploring Venice.  The island of Burano is almost a secret location.  Being visited by only those tourists either "in-the-know," or with an extended amount of time to spend in Venice.

Hello!

I wanted to pass along my comments about the Hotel Marconi in Venice, Italy. My husband and I booked this hotel through your site and we were so impressed. The hotel was beautiful and located right on the Grand Canal, just steps from the Rialto Bridge.

The service was outstanding. We were on our Honeymoon and much to our surprise, moments after we were checked into our room, the front desk delivered a bottle of champagne to us as a congratulations! So thoughtful!

I highly recommend this hotel. We really enjoyed our stay!

Regards,
Dayna & Steve P.

Dear In Italy,

First off, without your help and website we would not have had the wonderful stay in Venice that we did. Hotel Marconi was a lovely hotel with friendly staff and even a complimentary bottle of champagne in our room when we arrived and chilled with impeccable timing. The room was lovely with all the comforts of home and then some with that spectacular view of the Grand Canal! Venice is one of the most remarkable cities we have ever been to. Venice with all its rich history, antiquities and charm is by far the most beautiful place I believe in the world. How precious every moment was being right there in the middle of it. The shops and restaurants were fabulous and also there can be quite good bargains when looking for that perfect gift and found treasures when shopping down those little side streets and off the beaten path.

Your service has been a treasure in itself and has made our honeymoon indeed very special!

Thank you again Initaly.com!

Dear Initaly People,

You were so helpful, especially with the map of Venice and the directions to the Hotel Marconi. I had no trouble getting to and from the hotel. I would recommend the Hotel Marconi to anyone traveling on a budget. Check in and check out were easy as can be, no hidden fees or anything like that. The room was quite small, but it had great air conditioning, a wonderful shower and bath, good television, along with an excellent staff at the hotel. It's three buildings away from the Rialto Bridge, so it is right in the center of old Venice and ten minutes away from Piazza San Marco. It could not have been more convenient. I hope that you will continue to recommend it.

The only problem I encountered was the confusion at the Termini Station in Rome, where they do not provide you with any information, even when you board the train. My friend and I wanted a train to Terni. Nobody at the station seemed to know the time nor the track for the train. Terni seemed to be some impossible location, like Mars. When we got on the train that we presumed was going to Terni, there was no conductor to assure us that we were on the right train, no announcements of destination or stops along the route. The train just took off, and we had to hope that we were on the right one. When we eventually reached Terni, about half the people on the train got off with us. It's a major transportation hub, so I don't know why nobody seemed to know what we were talking about when we asked about how to get to Terni. Anyway, we eventually made it there, no thanks to the Trenitalia, which offers no assistance to its passengers.

So my only recommendation is that you might help non-Italians to maneuver their way through the Termini Station and the mysteries of the Trenitalia system. I don't know how you would do this, since it still remains a mystery to me.

Overall, your assistance was invaluable, and I had a glorious time in unforgettable Venice. Thanks so much for all your help.

Dear Jessica,

The hotel was fabulous - the staff really friendly and helpful, especially Carlo, Fredrico and Sabastian at front desk, all three are real gentleman and made us feel really welcome. Italy was a dream holiday we started in Rome, Florence, then used Lucca as a base for 6 days, seeing a different place in Tuscany each day, Bologna interesting one night was more than enough, and finishing in Venice which was a lovely end to our holiday although Saturday was very hot and humid. The highlite for me was Cinque Terre, the five walking villages - heaven. Restaurants and food in Florence you could not beat. All in all a wonderful 2 week holiday.

Thanks for your interest
Carmelita W.
