Hotel degli Orafi's Guestbook

Back to Hotel degli Orafi

Dear In Italy,

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel degli Orafi. As promised, the room faced the Arno and Ponte Vecchio. Service excellent. Luggage didn't make it to Florence airport for a couple days and a reception person whose name is Barbara was exceedingly helpful. We have oftimes visited Florence and love it. But, this time took a short train ride to Bologna. Fabulous day trip from Florence. This city is easily worth some time.

Thanks alot,
Dr. and Mrs. Sanford S.

Dear In Italy--

We had a wonderful trip - the Hotel dei Orafi was fantastic, our room was one of the best we've ever had. We are currently planning another trip in September. E-mail you then.

Thanks again,
Irene H.

Kristin hi,

I was impressed with your services since I first started talking to you about our upcoming trip. Your latest gesture reconfirms by beliefs about the level of service commitment to your clients.

Our stay in the hotels you recommended in Florence and Venice made up for what happened in Rome. I am glad I followed your advice to rent a car in Florence and tour Chianti instead of renting the car in Rome and driving to Venice. The Chianti region is truly a beautiful place. We stopped in a few wineries and met a few of the locals. Very nice and hospitable people as well.

Please feel free to use our recommendation for the Degli Orafi and Palace Bonvecchiati as we will gladly stay in either upon our return to Italy. They are truly exceptional hotels. Bonvecchiati has been recently refurbished and it shows as it is impeccably furnished. Our room was spacious and enjoyed a smart layout with a small entry leading to the bedroom on the right and the bathroom to the left. The room was very clean and room service and housekeeping were excellent. We felt it was the best overall hotel we stayed while in Italy. One observation to offer is about the directions on how to go to the hotel. The map attached to the voucher indicated to get off at St. Marks, go through the square and then to the hotel. We found that getting off at Rialto offers a shorter walk and without having to cross any canal overpasses (lifting suitcases, etc).

Until next time,

Best regards,
Pano G.

Hi,

Our trip was wonderful and the Hotel Degli Orafi was the perfect hotel. Clean, big and relaxing rooms. Our room didn’t have a view, but it has a wonderful balcony. And is near the sitting area by the computer. We found some great pastry shops and the supermarket was great for some lunch when you got sick of all the restaurant eating. I don't have the info on me, but I do have a great exchange place that is around the corner from the hotel and it is as big as a closet. You would be scared to exchange money there but it is the best place. It is down the block from where the "fake" David is outside. Then name is at home but I can get it to you soon.

Thanks again,
Ed and Barbara

Dear In Italy,

We had a marvelous stay at Hotel Degli Orafi, in Florence. We were there for 2 nights. Every aspect was perfect: the rooms were beautiful, the location was perfect, and the service was wonderful. On any return trip, we will definitely stay there.

Thank you for making everything so seamless.

Elizabeth V.

Thanks,

We stayed at the Hotel degli Orafi. Great location; very central. But we found the staff - the desk staff - less than 4-star: courteous but not inclined to do more than the bare minimum. The hotel would benefit from the front-office staff working more on 'service'.

As for 'finds' - we went to Urbino and it was stunning: a medieval hill town with almost no traffic, astounding Palazze Ducale, and wonderful atmosphere.

Many thanks,
Des O.

Dear In Italy,

Just to let you know, our entire trip to Italy was outstanding! Thank you for your very informative web site and your excellent assistance in coordinating our trip. All of the staff we met at the Hotel Santa Marina, Venice and the Hotel Degli Orafi, Florence, were most friendly and very accommodating. They made our trip very enjoyable and assisted us with all our needs. One of our most memorable events was our side trip to Siena. Our driver (secured for us by Hotel Degli Orafi) "Alberto" was outstanding and helped to make this day one of our very best during our stay. We will definitely come back to the Hotel Degli Orafi for its beauty and gracious atmosphere and see some more of the beautiful country side.

We most definitely recommend these Hotels to all!

Until our next visit - "Arrivederci "
Ron and Natalie H.

Dear In Italy Online,

We wanted to let you know that our trip to Italy was wonderful. All of the vouchers worked fine and made things easy for us. We especially enjoyed the Daniel's Hotel in Rome and the Hotel della Orafi in Florence. We hope to return to both and will recommend them to friends (as we have recommended your website). Hotel Santa Caterina in Siena was perfect for our exploration of the area outside of Siena. The staff was warm and friendly. We took their recommendation for dinner at a neighborhood restaurant down the street called Fori Porta. We ate there two nights. We would also recommend Dorando (expensive) for a great meal in San Gimignano and Osteria Sette di Vino (cheap) in Pienza. We came home thoroughly exhausted and satisfied. Thanks for helping us create this memorable trip. We will be using you again.

Dear In Italy,

Our trip was GREAT! we even had perfect weather everyday. The hotel Degli Orafi was possibly the nicest property I ever stayed at. The hotel itself is beautiful, the views from the rooms and the roof-top bar are exceptional. But what really put it over the top was the staff. The attitude shared by all the staff I had contact with was nothing short of amazing. I have been in the hospitality business my entire life and appreciate how difficult it is to have trained and "nice" staff. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Florence.

Our entire experience with the car rental was equally pleasant. Every part of the car rental process was easy and fast. This was a big surprise, on my 2 previous trips to Italy my car rental was a nightmare-(both times I did not use Initaly).

INITALY is an exceptional service, I tell every one about it, EVERY time someone asks how my vacation was.

I almost forgot, the pick-up at our hotel for the airport departure was a beautiful thing. It eliminated a normally stress filled morning.

I can't wait for my next opportunity to use your great web site.

Dear Jessica,

I just want you to know we really enjoyed our stay at the Orafi. The rooms facing the river were a little loud but after we moved to the back it was perfect. The rooms were clean and nice. I have no complaints at all. I stayed in 6 hotels while in Italy. This one was the best!

Julie,

The Hotel Degli Orafi was wonderful and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our trip to Italy, but are glad to be home. Thank you.

Cynthia,

We had a great time...thanks for all the help and assistance. Your involvement made thing much easier. We traveled from Rome to Florence to Lucca to Rome in two weeks; took bus trips to San Gimignamo, Siena, drove to Pisa and the Cinque Terre. The hotels were great. The Hotel degil Orafi was top of the class for accommodations...very much like staying in the states. The staff was very helpful and the location was ideal for touring by foot in Florence.

The rental car arrangements were also great ...thanks again. I might suggest a primer on your site with regard to bus...train travel. We found the bus systems in Rome and Florence very easy to use. Their timed ticket system took awhile to figure out...we initially thought everybody was riding for free on the buses except us. The Eurostar was great moving at 190 mph from Rome to Florence and back again...very smooth.

Thanks again for helping us have a great trip...I have recommended your site to a number of friends planning trips to Italy.

Ron M.
