Grand Hotel Oriente's Guestbook

Back to Grand Hotel Oriente

Dear In Italy,

Given that we made all of our hotel reservations over the Internet, I was a little scared that we would end up in Italy and it would have all ended up to be a scam and we would have no rooms.  Thank goodness In Italy Online is for real.  Our favorite hotel was the Ancient Walls of Sorrento.  What an absolutely beautiful hotel!

Our hotel in Naples, the Grand Hotel Oriente, had the best coffee I have ever had in my life!  The location of the hotel was great – in the middle of the old part of Naples.  So, it was in walking distance of everything we wanted to see.  Unfortunately, we wanted to visit the Archaeological Museum in Naples, but it was closed (despite everything and everyone telling us it would be open on that day).  In fact, pretty much everything in Naples was closed on December 27 th despite it not being a holiday.  We escaped Naples and its crowds and chaos the next day by taking a train and then the bus to Cuma to see the ruins of the Greek city.  It was amazing and the people along the way were so friendly and worked hard to help us find this out of the way archaeological site

On our last day in Italy, we stayed at the Naples Airport Hotel.  It is not in the nicest part of town, but it was an easy 10 minute walk to the airport.

Overall, we did not like Naples at all (too crowded, dirty, and chaotic), but we absolutely loved Sorrento.  If we are ever to go back, we will most definitely get a room at the Ancient Walls hotel.  The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the room was amazing.  Sorrento and the Ancient Walls would be a perfect place for a honeymoon!  It was a very romantic setting.

Thanks to In Italy Online for selecting such great hotels.  I am sure I would never have found these hotels on my own!

Renae D.
