Tuscan Secret Garden's Guestbook

Back to Tuscan Secret Garden

Hi there,

My niece and I had a wonderful trip to Italy. We had only 2 half days of rain out of 12 days and otherwise it was sunny and warm. We really enjoyed our stay at the Tuscan Secret Garden. The hosts and staff were most accommodating, the breakfast was very generous and very good. The grounds and flowers were all in full bloom and breathtaking. What a wonderful hideaway. Our room was very clean and spacious. We did have a few mosquitoes in room but did not learn that the screens are a pull down type of screen rather than what we have in the USA. So a heads up on that.

Dear In Italy,

The Tuscan Secret Garden was the highlight of the trip. We felt it was our villa.  It was beautiful, relaxing and everything was done very well. They even have russell terriers that play soccer.  We did discover the Villa San Marco just driving around the area. It is another beautiful villa or rather resort and if you can't afford to stay overnight, there is a restaurant, wine tasting and alot of history.  My favorite town was Volterra. It was not as busy as Siena and has Etruscan remains from 2 and 3rd century BC. They also specialize in alabaster. Burano was delightful with the many colors of their homes and the boatride out of Venice was another relaxing part of our adventure.  I look forward to the next trip to experience some of the places we didn't have time for, one being Lucca. Oh, we didn't expect all night thunder storms in Venice.

Thanks for your help on this.

Hallo and thank you for your email. We had a really enjoyable time at the Tuscan Secret garden and are already planning our return trip. One or two things we were unaware of that others might find useful:

Location of the hotel makes it very convenient for day trips to Firenze, Lucca Pisa and Siena. They have a helicopter and offer trips round the region. They run cookery courses! We slept very well, cooling breezes made it very comfortable with no unwelcome insect bites. Breakfast was a generous buffet and the evening dinners (served at a convenient time - 8.30pm) were of a high standard and although no choice is offered, we found everything to be delicious. I am a VERY fussy consumer and I can give no negative comments at all about this hotel. The staff were without exception charming in a most natural way. We were totally delighted. As far as your directions to the hotel we found them clear unlike Italian road signs which leave a lot to be desired!

Buongiorno!

We had a WONDERFUL time, thank you. The amusing part came when we went to the Avis centre in Rome to pick up our car. The guy at the desk looked at our contract, looked at our 3 pieces of luggage and said he didn't think they'd fit in the car! That got my husband slightly nervous, to say the least, so he went down in the garage to check out the car and came back up and immediately upgraded our car. We had a very cute Opel whose trunk still didn't fit our 3 bags, but was great to drive. Wouldn't have wanted anything bigger driving along the Amalfi coast.

The accommodations couldn't have been better - especially Tuscan Secret Garden. That was the most beautiful place I have ever stayed in. I must have taken 50 pictures just on the property itself. That's about all I can think of at the moment. I now have about 500 pictures to deal with. Great memories! Thanks for all your help.

Dear In Italy,

Tuscan Secret Garden was fabulous!  The estate, a former hunting lodge, is on gorgeous grounds and all the rooms are beautifully furnished. We found the owners and staff to be friendly and helpful.  A bit out of the way, but worth the effort.  We will return there for our next stay.
