Villa Romana on the Amalfi Coast

Budget Hotel - Seaside Hotel

Character: Very pretty guestrooms and welcoming public rooms two blocks from the beach.
Advantages: Being in a real town (as opposed to a jet-set resort destination) adds a wonderful layer of authenticity to your trip, whilst subtracting from the price!
Location: In Minori, 18 km from Salerno, 9 km from Amalfi, and 25 km from Positano. Click here for a map.
The charming town of Minori is a cheerful jewel set against the breathtaking background of the Amalfi Coast. It boasts a cluster of ancient Roman ruins, a warren of whitewashed narrow alleys wending their way up the hillside, a colorful fishing harbor and, just 150 yards from the sea, the elegant Villa Romana, which combines ultra-modern amenities, classic Amalfi Coast décor, and one of the friendliest staffs you'll come across. Because this four-star hotel is open year-round and located in the center of a bustling little village inhabited by real people, it's a great choice for those who want to experience both the beauty of this world-class destination and the warm hospitality of its residents.Unlike many small boutique hotels, Villa Romana has a spacious (and very smart) lobby featuring many public areas where you can congregate with friends. There is also a lovely garden, a rooftop solarium with stunning views of the mountains, and a flower-lined swimming pool that stays open from May through October. Completing the ground floor is a gourmet restaurant where you can enjoy a generous buffet breakfast, or lunch or dinner beneath the shade of a huge tree that has happily spread its limbs across the painted glass ceiling. We definitely recommend you dine here, as the chef prepares the same local specialties you'd get if you were invited home to mama's house.
