You can drive right up to this hotel, unload your bags and park in their garage. Also easily reached from the airport or train station, this hotel is totally unique in that one façade is firmly planted in the 21st century, while the other faces the Gothic fantasy of the Grand Canal. Occupying a former convent that has been here since the 1500s, it stands next to the lovely Papadopoli Gardens, where you can now stroll through lawns that served for centuries as Venice's fruit and vegetable gardens. The location offers a perfect combination of convenience and charm, while the hotel is the very incarnation of classic Venetian style.

Public Transportation: From the airport, just take a bus and walk 30 yards. From the station, take the vaporetto one stop and walk 30 yards. Almost all vaporetto water buses stop here.         Rooms: 40 rooms on four floors, including singles, doubles, triples, and quads. All rooms are furnished in classic Venetian style, with brocade wallcovering, wall-to-wall carpet or parquet or marble floors, wood-beamed ceilings and Murano chandeliers. They either face the small side canal, the gardens, the piazzale or the Grand Canal. There are non-smoking rooms and wheelchair-accessible rooms.         Features: Air conditioning, double-glazed and screened windows, color satellite TV, direct-dial telephone, DSL Internet access, mini-bar, and safe. 38 rooms have bathrooms with stall showers; two have bathtub and wall shower; all have hair dryers.         Facilities: Elevator; coffee bar; room service; wireless access and Internet point in the lobby; garage parking (20 Euro/night).
