Il Mulino di Montepulciano's Guestbook

Back to Il Mulino di Montepulciano

Greetings:

The folks at Il Mulino are very gracious hosts. Especially the family Valeriani. They provided a sumptuous wine tasting and dinner for our group as well as cooking classes and winery tour. The wives in the group had the great experience of harvesting and crushing the first white grapes of the harvest as well as pressing and storing new wine into the fermentation vats. The men in the group attended a three-hour cooking class by chef Luciano, and translated by Marta, at the Palazzo -incredible dishes and training, we all had a great lunch that we prepared.

The accommodations at Il Mulino are first rate - driving directions and property descriptions were up to par, and the whole experience was far beyond our expectations. Marta and her father Gabriel are first-rate hosts, we all would love to have this family for neighbors, they treated us like and even better than family. Next time we want to stay at the Palazzo Bandino apartments to be closer to the working vineyard. Il Mulino was across town and up a long winding crushed-rock bumpy road with the view of the San Biagio Cathedral and mountain-top town of Montepulciano. We just can’t say enough about the whole experience. The views were awesome. The location was great, close to everything. This is our second initaly.com experience and we loved it, and as always, we recommend initaly.com to all of our friends.

Thank you for the assistance in making this a memorable vacation.

Best regards,
The Pacella family

Dear In Italy,

Sorry not getting back to you sooner but have been very busy. We stayed in Montepulciano and our host was Gabriele. He was terrific! The dinner he gives for his guests was wonderful, very friendly atmosphere. He really should put together a brochure combining & explaining all his different houses & accommodation. The only complaints we had were:

More screens or fix broken screens in windows
Supply or tell us where to get wood for fires
More info in the house as to where to go for what and opening/closing hours of places
The photo on website of the swimming pool was very deceiving. It was very small and not too deep
You should warn people about the rocky road leading down to the house
Although the showers were great, a bathtub somewhere would have been wonderful

Other than that, we would love to go again. The area was heavenly. Watched the sunrise each morning! Can't say enough good things about our host. Does he rent the place in the winter? Where else in Italy should one go for peace & quiet & site-seeing?

Regards,
Sharon N.

Jessica,

Both Il Mulino di Montepulciano and the Duomo Apartments were great. Il Mulino di Montepulciano was a little drive outside Montepulciano but very tranquil (other than the hunters early in the morning - hunting season had just started). The apartment was very nice - rustic in the Italian country style. Overall we had a great time in Italy. Thank you very much for your assistance.

Regards,
Rolly M.

Dear In Italy,

We had a WONDERFUL time both in Tuscany and Rome. The farm apartment in Montepulciano was great.  We were the only people there for the 3 nights we stayed and we thoroughly enjoyed the rustic country feel.  The setting is beautiful and very peaceful.  Our only problem was in finding the place.  The instructions we received from you told us to check in at a villa that's up the road.  The people at that house were renters and didn't know what we were talking about.  We found a local woman who knew where the apartment is and when we finally found it, the key was in the door with a note.  Apparently there is some disconnect between the instructions you gave us and the owner's procedures.  Anyway, all was well and we really had a good time.

Thank you again for all your help.  When/if we go to Italy again, we will definitely contact you.

Jackie M.

Dear Jessica,

It was fantastic and really kid friendly - we all had a great time! What a view (see below).
