Villa del Vescovo's Guestbook

Back to Villa del Vescovo

Hello,

We had a very enjoyable trip to Sicily and a pleasant stay at Villa del Vescovo. There are a couple of things we didn't expect that you might want to change on the website. First, the owners (I assume) Carmela and Santino live in a separate part of the villa and their family (children, grandchildren) visit often and use the pool. This didn't create a problem for us, we just didn't expect it. Secondly, you advertise tennis court, pool table and basketball net. There is no tennis court and if we'd known that, we would have left our racquets at home and had one less piece of luggage to carry around. There is no pool table, only a ping pong table, and the basketball net was there but they didn't supply a basketball.

The grounds are beautiful, as well as the villa, but it was awful hot and the standing fans in each bedroom helped but it would be nice to have had fans in other rooms. It was also quite noisy with a good amount of traffic passing by the villa at night and the heat made it impossible to close the windows.

Carmella and Santino were pleasant and Santino had a few restaurant recommendations that we enjoyed. It was especially fun to be there during the World Cup with Italy doing so well. One of the local restaurants bought us 3 rounds of drinks every time they scored!

All in all, we enjoyed our second trip to Italy using your accommodations, but I would recommend you make these few changes to your website.

Thanks,
Sue D.

Hello Jessica,

We very much enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse of Villa Del Vescovo in June 2004. The guesthouse was very suitable for 4 persons - 2 couples. We used the large deck to enjoy all the meals that we prepared on site. The villa has pleasant grounds, orchards and a wonderful swimming pool.

The on-site hosts were very welcoming, however, it seemed spoke only Italian. This proved a bit challenging when one is getting rapid technical instructions on details and operating information. We would suggest that an information sheet be prepared for important information and then translated into the languages most commonly accessing the facility. Such a sheet would have reduced the guesswork on many points.

The villa is located close to the village and this was an easy walk in for our morning loaf of bread, etc. The location was good for day trips. Pleasant and peaceful setting.
