La Foresteria il Giardino di Fontarronco belongs to the Illuminati family, who
also own the 990-acre estate that surrounds it. The land is entirely cultivated
with fruit orchards, an amazing site to see at any time of year, but particularly
in spring blossom and in summer when the trees are laden with peaches and
apples! The guesthouse is a very large 18th-century farmhouse that has been
lovingly restored to offer ten apartments on two floors. The units range
in size from the smallest, a romantic nest for two, to the largest, a separate
house for 12 people. Next door is a cozy, inviting restaurant open only to
the farm’s guests, where they can enjoy all the typical specialties
of Tuscan cuisine. Over in the peach orchard is the marvelous swimming pool,
with five separate whirlpool jets. All of this beauty and charm are located
in a perfect spot for touring the most important sites of Tuscany, as well
as nearby Umbria and all of central Italy.
