Silvia and Adriano will be most happy and honoured to welcome you to La
Casa Vecchia, or The Old House. Located between the famous art cities of
Florence and Siena in the midst of the valleys of the rivers Arno and Greve,
this property offers a typically Tuscan atmosphere for your vacation. Located
400 meters above sea level, the old farm is immersed in the stunning stillness
of oak woods and olive groves, along the 11th-century road that originally led
to the Abbey of Montescalari. Here one can find the serenity which only the countryside
can offer.
Each apartment is slightly different one from the other and are given names
inspired from the flowers found in the garden. All apartments are tastefully
and comfortably furnished with one or two bedrooms, bathrooms with shower, living
room area with kitchenettes complete with modern day amenities, television, and
heating.

and sofabed, one double bedroom and one bathroom with shower.

Apartment consists of a living room with kitchenette, dishwasher, television,
and sofabed, one double bedroom (single beds can be made) in a loft space and
one bathroom with shower.
L'Iris (2+2)
Apartment consists of a living room with kitchenette, dishwasher, television,
and sofabed, one double bedroom and one single bedroom (in loft), one bathroom
with shower.
L'Olivo (2+2)
Apartment consists of a living room with kitchenette, dishwasher, television,
and sofabed, one double bedroom and bathroom with shower.
Le Rose (2+3)
Apartment consists of a living room with kitchenette, dishwasher, television,
and sofabed, one bedroom with a third bed in loft space, bathroom with shower.
Le Margherite (2+2)
One double bedroom, television, one double bedroom in the loft (single beds can
be made) and bathroom with shower. These rooms do not have a kitchenette and
connect with apartment Le Rose, providing space for families and groups of up
to 9 people.
I Mughetti (2+3)
Apartment consists of a living room with kitchenette, dishwasher, television,
and sofabed, two double bedrooms, and bathroom with shower. This apartment is
located on the ground floor, is wheelchair accessible, and has a private garden.
In the spacious carefully manicured garden outdoor tables, chairs, and lounge
chairs are available for guests to enjoy meals or an afternoon tea, or simply
to relax and enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding valley. Nearby the
large swimming pool, carefully designed and placed in the midst of olive trees
is an ideal place to enjoy a book, sunbathe, or enjoy a cocktail created by your
hosts, who are always on hand, to satisfy all needs and desires.
La Casa Vecchia is located near charming villages and is not far from
the important artistic centers of Florence, Arezzo and Siena. Possibilities also
abound to visit outstanding wine cellars and century old castles. The area offers
wonderful walks to those who feel the need of leaving aside the frenzy of modern
life and to plunge into a dimension out of space and time, characterized by a
harmonious relation between man and nature, the same atmosphere that has inspired
many famous artists who have lived or visited Tuscany.
At La Casa Vecchia one can buy olive oil produced on the farm, wine
produced nearby, seasonal vegetables and local honey. With prior notice Adriano
and Silvia can organize rich buffet breakfasts with delicious homemade cakes,
quiches, biscuits, yoghurt and much more. Light lunches can also be arranged
for guests who prefer to enjoy the day just relaxing by the pool. Your hosts
can also organize typical Tuscan dinners “al fresco” or in the lovely
common room of the farm. During these special evenings guests can gain greater
insight on the joys of Italy sharing conversation and laughs with Adriano and
Silvia. Your hosts can also arrange for extra services such as cooking classes,
catering, pottery courses, and what Adriano and Silvia call “An Itinerary
of Taste”. This is a culinary tour to local establishments (farms and small
producers) with guided explanations of local production methods combined with
gastronomic tastings of products such as pecorino cheese, honey, wine, and salamis.
Laundry cleaning and babysitting can be organized on request and for those who
enjoy sporting activities the farm has table tennis and mountain bikes available.
Nearby sporting opportunities include hiking, horseback riding (3 km), canoeing
(15 km), and tennis (7 km). If you need to get in touch with the real world,
telephone and ISDN Internet connections are available in the common room. All
pets are accepted, and they have outside areas where you can play with them in
freedom.
