Among your most baffling and elusive, yet potentially rewarding, sources of information are Italy's town, province and regional archives. It is often extremely difficult to find addresses for these offices, and once you do find them, that's only the beginning. What can you ask them for? How much can you expect them to cooperate? And why is it so darned difficult to get a straight answer from them anyway?
In this section of Radici we are making an ongoing effort to help you connect with the civil servants who may be the link between you and your ancestors. As we find new sources we'll add them, and we ask you to let us know if you stumble upon any gold mines. Your fellow Radici members will be grateful.
Remember, when you contact the local offices, use our form letter to communicate directly in Italian.
