Hello In Italy!
Your website hosts a number of amazing properties; the two that we experienced were absolutely great.
We stayed at the Verona Winery and Villa Campestri. Our host, Paolo from the Verona Winery was
by far the best! He was so helpful with dinner reservations and getting us in on a night where the entire
city seemed to be booked! The property is amazing and so well kept. One of our favorites!
The Villa Campestri was amazing as well. They welcomed us with a bottle of champagne (our honeymoon). The
property is so serene and quiet, just what we needed after a day in Venice!! The great restaurant that
is on the property is very convenient when you don't feel like driving down the VERY windy road to get to
town!
Overall, our trip was wonderful! Thank you so much for your awesome recommendations; on our next trip to the southern region, we will definitely use In Italy again!!
Thank you,
Jenni Y.
Dear In Italy:
Thank you so much for your concern regarding our recent trip to Italy. First of all we encountered no problems along the way. This includes your assistance with having the van pick us up in Rome for our initial ride into the city. Also, we love our Villa Campestri. They were so helpful and kind. They even arranged for us to have a private wine tasting at a nearby winery. The villa is lovely and peaceful. We found Florence to be so hectic that we could hardly wait to return at night to the villa. We ate there two nights and found everything to be delicious with such a great view. The only thing I might suggest is that you might take along insect repellent since there are no screens on the windows and with no air conditioning you must keep the windows open in the heat.
You asked about a little "gem". Well, we think that we found one in the small town of Orvieto. I think it was about an hour and a half out of Rome and our first view of a medieval town. There is a ticket that you buy which allows you to see their underground, climb their bell tower, see their fabulous church as well as some other things I can't remember. It is still so quaint and such a nice change from the noisy, fast pace of Rome.
Well, I want you to know that I have over 50 clients and any of them that ask about a trip to Italy will get my strong suggestion to go to your web site. Thank you for all your help since prior to our trip we were such needy travelers, bugging you with all sorts of questions.
We wish you much continued success with your much needed web site.
Sincerely,
Terri R.
Thank you for your message!
We had a marvelous time in Italy and the accommodations at Villa Campestri were
better than expected. The location is very picturesque and the staff was so helpful
and friendly! We rented a car, however driving in Florence was quite an experience.
Had we known we could take a train that arrived five miles from the Villa, we
may have chosen that option! We found driving in the countryside easy, however!
Thanks for your help with this memorable trip!

Dear In Italy,
This was my second time staying at the Villa Campestri, and once again, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff is wonderful and very helpful in directions and suggestions for the many sites in Tuscany. One memorable experience we had this time was that instead of taking the train, we drove into Florence on the local road just north of the Villa (from Saginale). The road that takes you into Florence winds through the hills overlooking the city with views of Florence below.

The Villa Campestri was wonderful! It exceeded our expectations! The lovely views and tranquil setting and beautiful Villa were something I'd recommend to anyone traveling to Tuscany. The Villa is close to a train station which we used to travel to and from Florence, rather than fight the traffic and parking. It was a much more relaxing way to visit Tuscany rather than a city stay. I'd definitely do it again and maybe stay longer. The food and wine were excellent and the staff very nice and very helpful.

Hi Julie,
Our trip was great, thanks. Please feel free to post the following.
The Villa Campestri was a welcome respite from the bustle of Firenze. The villa itself is breathtakingly situated and there are views of the valley and mountains from every one of the lovingly restored rooms. Each upper floor has a graciously appointed great room with sitting areas and a fireplace, so you feel at home enjoying wine with friends or planning the day. Our Hostess made us feel so welcome and helped us with everything from hiking trails to restaurant suggestions.
The bountiful breakfast inside or on the patio was a perfect start to the day. Do enjoy their "light lunch" which is usually a choice of excellent pastas, salads and crostinis. Skip the formal dinners, unless you enjoy a pretentious waiter with sometimes disappointing entrees.
There are excellent restaurants in the near-by towns of Borgo San Lorenzo (Chestnut and fig festival the second weekend in October) and Vicchio. Don't miss Oblo Pizzaria in Vicchio, with the best thin crust pizza and a full menu of local dishes. There are great trails all around the villa. And for the less adventurous, the local roads make for great walking, as there is virtually no car traffic. The farm cooperative in Vicchio (open Sunday) is a great place to fill you picnic basket with truly local products. Unfortunately we were unable to sample the wineries south of the villa centered around Ruffina. None are open on Sunday. But those same wines were available at even the smallest local trattoria.
Julie, thanks again for including the Villa Capestri in your listings. Our experience with InItaly accommodations have always been stellar and the Villa Capestri is another excellent example.

Dear In Italy,
I did enjoy the trip. It did feel cut short because of the events that happened in NY. Villa Campestri was wonderful. They rooms were beautifully decorated, and large. The restaurant was wonderful and the atmosphere was very relaxing. I also found Forida Residence quite comfortable with a beautiful view. I had a type C apartment, however would probably want a larger room on my next visit. Thank you for your help, the maps as driving directions were perfect. All the helpful hints and suggestions were great. I hope to once again travel to Italy and will likely use your online service

Dear "In Italy",
Please add our name to your long list of very satisfied clients! The work and research you have done regarding Italy, and in our case Villa Campestri, were right on the mark!
Rarely have we traveled to a destination where just about everything was "as advertised". Our Villa Campestri hosts were gracious and helpful in every respect, well-versed in many languages (including English)....but patiently helping us with our Italian. They offered many helpful hints which saved time and helped us find wonderful restaurants, local villages, horseback riding, golf, shops, & vineyards.
Of course the "dining experience" at Villa Campestri is not to be missed! We stayed a week and had dinner there 4 of our 7 nights. Our daughters felt right "at home" as well. The pool was beautiful and the estate grounds held beauty and tranquility at every turn. The clientele was worldwide, families and couples......yet the villa never seemed too busy. After a day in Pisa, Lucca, Siena or Florence, it was so wonderful to retreat to our villa in the hills.
Some key points others visiting this area might find helpful are:
1. The airport at Florence is small and fairly easy to negotiate.
2. If you're traveling with more than 2 people, rent a larger (premium) car with all the coverage you can get. It may cost more but you'll need it for passengers & luggage. Europe Car was a trouble-free experience.
3. Before you leave the airport, try to plan your route. The traffic is fast and furious and the many road signs can be confusing at first. If you're not alone, assign a "navigator" because you're not going to want to take your eyes off the road.......but its worth it to drive....even if you get off-track a couple times! Campestri's directons are accurate but take your time and pay close attention.
4. If you're going to Florence...Don't Drive.....take the train from Veccio. It's close to the Villa, parking is free, your car is safe, its only an hour by train and inexpensive.
5. Ask the staff to give you directions to Villa Medici for lunch or dinner.....an incredible dining experience only 15 minutes away.
6. Don't miss the village of Scarperia, only 20 minutes from the villa. A great half-day trip!
7. Do visit some of the local smaller restaurants for more casual meals.
8. If you're taking travelers checks, take them in Euros, but we only had luck cashing them in Florence. No one anywhere else wanted anything to do with them....even though many receipts show Lira and Euros.....American Express &/or Visa were everywhere and the credit card exchange rate was great. Cash machines were also numerous but we did not want to risk getting our cash card "eaten".
Lastly, use all the resources "In Italy" has to offer....they are extensive, accurate and current.

Dear Ghia,
Our party was more than satisfied with the accommodations at Villa Campestri. Our hosts could not have been more gracious and were responsive to our every wish! The rooms were spacious and extremely well appointed. The dining room was excellent in every way - the food delicious and the service impeccable. The grounds were beautiful and well groomed, the surrounding countryside lovely. The staff cheerfully provided us with hiking and touring information for the area, and we were delighted to be accompanied on our walks by one of the three gentle and personable dogs in residence at the villa. I must say again how pleased we were to find our host and their staff to be so charming and helpful. We had a delightful visit and have recommended the Villa Campestri to our families and friends as a wonderfully restful and luxurious destination.
Thank you for your help with our travel arrangements, and for inquiring as to our satisfaction with our visit.
Sincerely,
Susan Giese G.
Dear In Italy,
We had a wonderful stay at Villa Campestri. We cannot say enough about the experience. The only glitch was that the directions are not very good and we spent quite some time locating the place after we got off of the Autoastrada. Our hosts were exceptional. We arrived to a beautiful apartment in the main building. The main building is exquisite; it has been restored, but not renovated. Service is impeccable; food is excellent; the grounds are serene. The property is appropriate for couples as well as families. We thought it would be a great place for our entire family, parents etc. to plan a vacation. Villa Campestri is a short drive to the train station which takes you to Florence. Even if you have a vehicle, I suggest taking the train to Florence. The train ride is about 35 minutes. The immediate area offers horseback riding and great explorations. The food at the onsite restaurant and the service was worth not seeking out an alternate place to dine. The hosts speak great English. We hope to be back at Villa Campestri. Also, your description of the apartment we stayed in should be elaborated on. It by far was the most spacious place we stayed on our trip and was quite a value! It was literally a three-bedroom apartment with a large bath and grand foyer. It was incredible. Thanks for your assistance.

Dear In Italy,
The folks at Campestri were likewise very helpful. We had a few days on our trip where we had made no sleeping arrangements in advance. We thought we would be adventuresome and find our own places as we traveled. We were so unstructured that we didn't pay enough attention to the dates and totally forgot to go to Campestri for the first night of our reservation. Never in my life have we done something like that. It must be old (57) age setting in a little early. Well any way we called and explained that we would be there for our second night. Naturally they had charged our credit card for both nights but had not sold the rooms to anyone else. The girl at the desk was very helpful and helped us make reservations for a couple of our "free" nights. This week I spoke with a friend that will be going to Italy and I highly recommended you services. We hope to back to Italy and will definitely use your site when making our plans.
