Dying to see the magnificent 16th-century castle where Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes had their dream-come-true wedding? Then we suggest you spend a day or two right down the road at this 375-acre estate, a gracious country farm that can also claim the prestigious designation of "Relais," given only to high-quality European country retreats. Within walking distance of the lake, it is one of the few places in Italy that hosts elegant drag hunts, and it has a 5-star gourmet restaurant that is a leader in the local Slow Food movement. Its location is perfect for day trips to countless nearby hill towns, Etruscan tombs, the seashore or even to Rome (a convenient commuter train is just 7 Km away; trains leave every 30 minutes and take 39 minutes to get to St. Peter's Basilica). And since Fiumicino Airport is also less than half an hour away, you may want to schedule a couple restful days here at the beginning or end of your trip.

If you stay at the Relais, you will be ensconced in one of 25 rooms or 7 very large junior suites and suites, all with private bath (with shower), air conditioning, direct-dial telephone, independent heating, satellite TV and mini-bar. There's an attended 35 x 75-foot swimming pool with bar service nestled in a beautiful park, an equitation school with an English-language instructor (bring your own attire, please), a sports activities center with tennis courts, and mountain bikes for hire. Not too far from the farm are the Le Querce golf club (15 miles) and the Vallelunga Auto Race Course (10 miles).
