Villa Luppis's Guestbook

Back to Villa Luppis

Kristin,

We had a wonderful trip! So much so, that we are already talking about a return visit.

I have to say that, overall, we were very pleased with the ways things were handled by everyone at "In Italy Online". All hotel and car reservations were confirmed and rooms were waiting for us when we arrived at each location. It was great not having someone tell us "sorry, we don't have a room for you", or "sorry, that rate is not available." Everything was pretty much as confirmed in our reservations.

Probably the best selection of all was the Villa Luppis. What a magnificent place. The old monastery has been maintained to give one a special feeling of being back in time in a more relaxed setting. The staff were exceptionally eager to insure that we enjoyed our visit. It was peaceful, relaxing, and the food was excellent. The junior suites were definitely worth the extra cost! If we go back to the Venice area, we will definitely stay at the Villa Luppis again.

Even the staff at Hertz rental car were great. We made some changes to our reservation and they worked with us to get us what we needed.

I would absolutely use your services again and have already recommended your web site to several friends.

Regards,
PJC

Dear Jessica

Thank you for your email. We loved Villa Luppis but felt it was a little bit out of our way this time as we will have been walking with Ramblers and then meeting our daughter who wanted to visit Venice. However I very much hope that we will be able to stay there another time and will keep your web site in our Favourites.

Thank you,
Rowena D.

Dear In Italy,

We enjoyed Villa Luppis very much. On the positive side, it is quiet, comfortable, and very cordial. The biggest negative is that even with maps and driving directions, it is quite difficult to find- even, in our case, navigating with the aid of Italian friends from the neighboring region of Friuli. The main problem is the inconsistent or non-existent signage in the area.

Among the best dining experiences we had in out-of-the way places were at Dolada, near Belluno (three forks in the Gambero Rosso); Al Capello, in Mel; and Al Caminetto, in Follina. And for intrepid drivers, crossing the Paso San Boldo is an unforgettable experience (hairpin tunnels!).

In Venice, great food and wines at Vini da Gigio (Canareggio) and Fiaschetteria Toscana, especially appreciated given the otherwise overpriced and underperforming tourist dining experience in Venice.

Mahalo and aloha from Hawaii,
RLS

Dear Julie and Kristin,

The Villa Luppis was very nice and the rooms outstanding, lovely buffet breakfast and meals very good! Only the heat was bad into the night. At least our rooms were air conditioned. After visiting Venice and going to Bolzano up north then to Milan everything was great. We can always count on your good service and everything was as we expected. The car was there and worked fine for us so once again we all thank you for your time, advice and for making our trip pleasant!! We look forward to going again to one of our very favorite countries. Thanks so much, and best regards,

Janelle B.

Dear In Italy,

The Villa Luppis was absolutely wonderful !!!

We picked up our rental car at the Venice airport (arranged for the car through InItaly also and everything worked out very well) and headed to the Villa Luppis using the directions provided. It was not a real easy trip since once you get off the main roads there aren't alot of directional signs, but it was an adventure and we did manage to get to Rivarotta Di Pasiano without any major problems! The building is an impressive two-story villa surrounded by large trees in the middle of what appears to be a six-to-eight acre park.

Our room was beautiful, very clean, with high-beamed ceilings and a sitting area at one end. The bathroom was large and modern. The staff at the Villa Luppis is exceptional, efficient and friendly (especially Andrea at the front desk and Paul in the dining room) and the owners could not have been nicer. The food was wonderful, with an excellent breakfast buffet and the very best of gourmet meals in the main dining room. Although we didn't meet the Chef we understand he is young, from Sardinia and obviously runs a top-notch kitchen. The public areas were furnished with lovely antiques and although it was too cool to use, there is a large pool and park area around the Villa.

The bottom line is that the Villa Luppis is an excellent 4-star hotel, with an outstanding staff, with great food, in a pleasing location. You can't ask for more than that! We would not hesitate to recommend the Villa Luppis to anyone visiting in that part of Italy.

A "thanks" to In Italy for having such an excellent property on your list of historic villa hotels.

Dear Cynthia,

We have returned from a glorious business trip in Venice. I thank you for the work you did. I have traveled to many places, never have I been so delighted and pleased with my accommodations, as we were with the Villa Luppis. We were late leaving a business meeting the first night and arrived around 10:00 Pm. We were greeted with champagne, a most glorious suite with fresh flowers and an additional bottle of champagne. I believe the staff would have opened the kitchen to prepare us food, even at that late hour!

Our only regret is that we were not able to enjoy dinner in the beautiful restaurant due to business commitments, but when we arrived late the next night, the chef brought a sandwich to our room. Our business meetings were successful so that we can count on visiting Italy several times a year. I would not think of booking with anyone but you. Thank you again for providing us with a most memorable time...I shall treasure these memories always.

With warm regards,
Judith
