Alpine Chalet Hotel's Guestbook

Back to Alpine Chalet Hotel

Dear In Italy,

Our trip to Italy was simply wonderful. This is actually the second time that I have used InItaly Online for my accodommations. There are two standouts this time. One is Casa Bella B&B. The other standout is the Verona Winery. What a spectacular place.

We also stayed at the Alpine Chalet Hotel in Seis/Siusi in the Dolomites. The location and scenery is astounding. However, if you do not have a room with a view, you will be facing the back of a neighboring garage and under the driveway entrance to the hotel. We are in our early fifties, but the average age of the guest is about 75, so we felt pretty young. The town shuts down very early and I think all restaurants are closed on Mondays except one. I highly recommend driving to Brixen about an hour north as it is delightfully charming, easy to navigate, with plenty of parking garages. Hopefully we will return once again to Italy, and when we do, I will use InItaly Online. It is a great source!

Hello Initaly

We had a wonderful time in Italy....all your accommodation was better than expected having found your site on the web and booking relatively late in the season. The Alpine Chalet Hotel was delightful. Again the staff were unfailingly polite and what a fabulous view. Walking in the Alpes de Suise was probably the highlight of our 3 week trip. Take the cable car from the village up to the highest altitude alpine meadow in Europe. It was vast with alpine flowers in bloom, great walks and stunning views all around. Thank you so much. I have already mentioned your site to two family members who are planning to head to Europe.

Thank you for the'mail - and yes, we had a brilliant trip to Italy, and Alpine Chalet Hotel! It really is a magnificant location - if I was being a little critical, I would say that it is a truly old fashioned hotel-its inhabitants may be of a certain age, and are used to a certain routine. In its favour, apart from its location, I would say that the staff are friendly, its rooms (I can only speak for the older part of the hotel ) truly lovely, and all in all, made for a pleasant stop over. Well done to Herr Eggar and all his staff!

Dear Kristin,

One of the most useful features of your In Italy Website is the set of reviews, both good and bad, by travellers who have been to places that were arranged through your site. Well, we've just returned from Italy and I thought that I'd pass on our own experience to potential visitors. In this trip, we visited Venice, Siusi and Florence, having booked the latter two through your website.

Let me tell others about one of them. Alpine Chalet Hotel near Siusi/Seis is one of the highlights of our trip. The hotel is owned by the Egger family and we (my wife and two children aged 8 and 13) were given a room that had a spectacular view of the Schlern. Several of the other rooms also had the same view. The hotel has a swimming pool with the same extraordinary sight as its backdrop. The pool was unheated, but given the temperatures in Italy lately a welcome relief from the heat. The hotel is ideally situated in the South Tirol region of Northern Italy where there are dozens of walks and hikes, ranging between the scenic, ambling and challenging. It would be perfect for skiing in winter, but it also served well as a summer resort. Most of the other guests were German and Italian, but the staff made every effort to make English speakers welcome.

Driving in the Alps, especially between Bolzano and Völs, requires nerves of steel as they are windy, if not treacherous in places, but those who perserve will be rewarded with a place to remember. My thirteen year old son loved it so much that he said that he'd like to go back for his honeymoon! The dinner at the Hotel was excellent, both in its value and variety and traditional cuisine. The kitchen staff also accommodated our children who have plainer tastes.

There's no doubt that Alpine Chalet Hotel is far from the beaten path, but I would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for quiet, relaxation, lovely scenery and walks, and good food. There's enough variety, like tennis and visits to the 'Ice Man' in Bolzano, to keep A-type personalities like ours satisfied. The staff members were all friendly and highly efficient as is characteristic of their teutonic origins. One of the other Italian guests from Rome described the place as 'very special' and I could hardly agree more.

best,
Timothy L

Dear In Italy,

The holiday was wonderful. The area around the Alpine Chalet Hotel was even more spectacular than the pictures and the hotel itself was excellent. Great rooms, great service, great breakfast in a beautiful setting. We would definitely go back again and would like to spend more time exploring the surrounding towns. It is hard to decide whether to go in the fall again or try the skiing.

I was so glad to find your site. I used the suggested itineraries for many areas. Brixen, Bolzano, Aquilea, Duino, Grado, Trieste, The Ice Man museum in Bolzano was definitely worth going to. The directions for getting to the hotels were invaluable. Saved a great deal of stress. The drivers thank you.

Thanks for all your help.

Dear Julie,

We just returned yesterday from our vacation. Yes , indeed the Alpine Chalet Hotel was a very good choice. Everything was top level. However we would like to mention especially:
- the service in the Restaurant , the staff was very kind, always smiling and very polite
- the dinner very well balanced , having each evening something different
- the special attentiveness of the owner of the hotel Mr. Egger, who took care that everything was going smooth. He was present from early morning till late evening - and taking care of everything ( Reception, Bar, Restaurant, everything)

Another positive surprise - was that the Management provides each client with an unlimited bus ticket , valid for entire period booked with them - which you can use as many times you like to go up and down to the mountains. The hotel is really very quiet (just a parrot in the garden who whistled from time to time), the garden is very well attended and you can enjoy a very relaxed time.

With kindest regards,
Alice and Adrian L.
