If Campo de' Fiori is where you want to be in Rome, you could not find a better location than this, because it is inside a building whose front door actually opens onto the piazza, yet the apartment itself is on the lateral side of the building, greatly attenuating the noise associated with any popular downtown meeting place. Thanks to its homey furnishings, when your windows are closed, you might think you were in a countryside cottage -- but just lean out and look to the left to see the exciting hubbub that fills the world-famed market by day and then, after the funny little municipal robot machines have swept away all traces of produce, watch while the square slowly fills up with young people who gravitate here to see old friends and meet new ones till long after sunset. There's no question that Campo de' Fiori is the hub of human activity in historic Rome, and that is why it has become such a coveted address for vacationing foreigners.

You will take the elevator up to your air-conditioned apartment, which is basically a big square laid out in a circular succession of rooms. First is the entry, lined with useful wardrobes. This opens onto the living room, furnished with a classic Italian combination of settees, armchairs, desk, and dining table for four, as well as a brand-new double sleep sofa. To the left of this room is the adorable bedroom, where a romantic canopy bed awaits beneath a wood-beamed ceiling. Continuing counter-clockwise, a door here leads to the ultra-modern bathroom featuring an oversized walk-in shower and a washing machine. A second door leads from this room to the hall, where you will find the tiny but incredibly clever kitchen, equipped with two electric burners, an oven, dishwasher and fridge. A few steps more and there you are, back at the entry! Now all that's left to do is decide whether you'll relax in your living room or join the fun just outside your door.
