If you're a fan of the modern Italian design which wins awards all over the world and always leaves the competition in the dust, then you'll love these two apartments, which look like 5 stars but cost like 3 stars. They occupy the first and second floors of a charming little 100-year-old building in an authentic residential neighborhood of the city, surrounded by real shops and cafes where the locals hang out, yet no more than 20 minutes' walk from Ponte Vecchio. Just a few doors down the street is a laundromat, and if you do want to have a car while you're staying in Florence, this is an ideal location because a garage is nearby, street-side parking is allowed, and you are near the avenues that get you of town in a hurry.
You will take the stairs up to your air-conditioned apartment, where every detail has been designed to please. Whether you are staying in One, on the first floor, or Two, on the second floor, you enter into a spacious hallway, which opens onto the bright and sunny living room. The sofa here opens up to become a top-quality double bed, perfect for overnight guests or an extra family member. There is a dining table for six, as well as a state-of-the-art kitchenette, which features a full fridge/freezer, stovetop, microwave oven, US coffeemaker, pots, pans and dishes for breakfast or light dinners.
Each apartment has two full bedrooms with two twin beds that can also be made up as one king size. The bedrooms have plenty of closet space, and each has its own private bathroom, one with a mosaic-tiled stall shower, and the other with wood-beamed ceilings and a bathtub with wall shower and glass door. Satellite Tvand Internet access are available in both apartments, which have terracotta floors throughout.
