Florence Montebello Apartments' Guestbook

Back to Florence Montebello Apartments

Dear In Italy,

The apartment is very conveniently located just a few minutes of walking from the train station and from the major sights. And it's a block from the Arno River. But it is located on a quiet street. I would stay there again.

Thanks,
Dario

Dear In Italy,

I must say that our stay in Florence was simply fantastic and you played a great role in that. In general, people (including myself) would spontaneously write to their travel agent only if they had troubles with their product. In my case, I had really intended to write to In Italy to express our great satisfaction for the flat. The location, the state of the flat and the building were simply great. One needs to get the credit he deserves. I will definitely use again In Italy (and recommend it to my friends and colleagues).

If I was to list minuses, there are two things I would recommend the residence's management to change.
1) The toilet brush definitely needs to be changed
2) There was a basket in the bathroom that had some black stuff on its lid (from the moist).

I do not think that we did discover any hidden place that was worth mentioning.

With my best regards
K. D.

Hi Jessica,

Yes i did enjoy my trip to Italy immensely, both Florence and Rome, though I preferred Florence. I was pretty pleased to discover that the roads were relatively easy to traverse on a wheelchair and though strenuous to some extent, we did manage to walk to everywhere we wanted to go.

The furthest we went to was the Galleria Accademia and the Palazzo Pitti and Boboli gardens, though that last one proved somewhat inaccessible. The Duomo was also simply awesome although there was no lift up to the top of the dome. While I am not entirely sure it is feasible, I noticed that both the Coliseum and the Vatican dome have lifts, though only the base of the Vatican dome is accessible. Everywhere else though was incredibly wheelchair friendly, especially the Uffizi, Accademia and the Pitti museum. We also loved all the stalls at the various piazzas. Especially nice was the Piazza Mercato Nuovo, where there were tons of stuff available, much of which is very reasonably priced. We also managed a day trip to Pisa, using our Eurailpass. Trenitalia is really an exceptional company and the staff are really warm and patient and there are excellent facilities for the disabled, though the train staff have to be informed beforehand.

The Montebello apartments are really nice and we loved it. Francesca was really helpful and friendly as well. The only suggestion I have is that hand-rails should be installed in the shower stalls. I found using the showers a little difficult without these. The kitchen proved really useful as well and we discovered this little provision store called U-pac (can't remember where exactly) near the apartments that sold provisions at really reasonable prices. One very nice restaurant we came across was called "Baccus" at 45R Borgognissanti (tel: 055 283714). it's a little restaurant with very nice decor, great food (loved the pepper mussels) and excellent service. Great desserts too.

I hope all this has been helpful. If you need any more information about how wheelchair friendly the place was, just feel free to toss questions my way. Thank you very much for all the help and for the great deal of very helpful information on the website. Will definitely be going back to Florence sometime and will definitely be using you guys again.

Cheers,
Julian W.
