Florence Montebello Apartments

Downtown Florence is so small that practically anywhere you stay, you're only minutes from everything. This location is, however, what we would call "well above average," because it's one block from the Arno and only about a 10-minute walk from Ponte Vecchio. There are loads of little restaurants and great shops right downstairs, and the car rental agencies are around the block. The entire building was recently renovated from top to toe, now offering an elevator to all five floors, 24-hour locked-door security, and maid service once weekly (with extra maid service available at an additional cost). After being totally reconfigured and upgraded, the apartments now have spacious rooms with big double-glazed windows, classy marble floors with pretty Oriental throw rugs, and every modern amenity, including air conditioning, direct-dial telephone with DSL access, color television with cable or satellite reception, stylish kitchens or kitchenettes with US coffeemaker, microwave, tea kettle, iron and ironing board, and modern tile bathrooms with bathrobes and hair drier on request. All the apartments have a washing machine, and some also have a dishwasher.

There are several different size apartments to choose from. One-bedroom apartments have a living room with kitchenette, bedroom with one queen or two twin beds, and bathroom with stall shower. Standard two-bedroom apartments have two double bedrooms and two bathrooms. Superior two-bedroom apartments also have a sleep sofa in the living room. The three-bedroom apartment is a duplex on the fifth floor. It has a large living room with dining table for eight, kitchenette with dishwasher and washing machine, a bedroom with double bed, a bedroom with two twin beds, and two bathrooms, one with tub and one with shower on one floor. Upstairs, reached by a spiral staircase, is a bedroom with two twin beds and a bathroom with shower.
