Everyone wants to stay in the heart of ancient Rome, and this apartment's location is just that: around the corner from what many consider the finest Renaissance piazza in the world. Not only is it home to Michelangelo's magnificent Palazzo Farnese, whose ornate frescoed ceilings can be viewed through enormous windows day and night, but it also boasts two gigantic fountains made from authentic ancient Roman bathtubs, and a dainty little Swedish church where you can hear cloistered nuns singing vespers every day at dusk. Needless to say, there are also restaurants and bars, as well as a little-known shop where cheesemakers deliver their delicious wares daily. One block away is Campo de' Fiori, Italy's most famous outdoor market: you'll come here in the morning to buy fresh fruits and vegetables and meats and delicacies, and when you return in the evening the stands will have been replaced by trendy bars where you'll enjoy an aperitif or a nightcap late into the tender Roman night.

The minute you step over the threshold you'll realize it's been here for a long, long time: the spectacular casement ceilings have recently been restored, but they are made of wood that was chopped down many centuries ago. Other original touches are two columns of a local stone called peperino, and exquisite terracotta floors. All the furniture and doors are made of the same rich wood as the ceilings, along with accents in wrought-iron and dainty glass chandeliers. It all adds up to a warm and inviting casa romana. In this abode you will find an entry with a single sleep sofa, a living/dining room with sofa, table and chairs, a separate kitchen with dishwasher, range, oven, and full fridge/freezer, a bedroom with queen bed, a bedroom with two twin beds, and a brand-new bathroom with stall shower and washing machine. Air conditioning and heating assure your comfort year-round, even if we imagine you'll be spending more time outside than in -- like any true Roman!

The price you pay is based on the maximum number of people who use the apartment at any one time during your stay, even if for only one night
Prices include: taxes, services, one change of linens, and gas and electricity up to 1.50 Euro/day. If you use more than this, which is unlikely, you will pay the balance at checkout. Also included is wood for the fireplace. Because of local safety laws it may not be possible to use the fireplace during your stay, and we apologize for this if it should occur
