If you are one of those travelers whose ideal base would be at the Spanish Steps, look no further because this large apartment's location just two blocks from the fountain is as close as one can get. It is typical of Rome that amidst these narrow streets lined with the world's chicest designer shops, you will also find a daily fruit and vegetable market, where you'll rub elbows with elegant signore who think nothing of wearing a Valentino frock to pop downstairs and purchase a kilo of fresh eggplant. Also practically in front of your door are some of Rome's best grocery stores selling an unimaginable variety of meats, cheeses, pastas and ready-made delicacies. And it goes without saying that if you'd rather step out for dinner, you can choose from the most humble pizzeria to the most exclusive ristorante.

On the second floor (Italian) of an elevator building, this non-smoking apartment truly is perfect for a family of six, or for five friends. Spacious, very clean and quiet, its three bedrooms are at opposite corners of the living room, affording privacy. Each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom with stall shower and hair dryer. The master bedroom has a queen that cannot be divided; the second bedroom has two twin beds that can be joined; the third bedroom has a full-sized bed that is suitable for one adult or two small children. All three have enough storage space for the things you brought from home as well as the things you bought downstairs!

The shared spaces in this apartment are equally inviting. The large living/dining room, with its wooden casement ceiling and framed oil paintings, offers plenty of space for everyone to congregate and chat, watch satellite TV or check their email using the wireless connection. Next door is the modern kitchen, equipped with ample dishes, pots, pans and cutlery, a full freezer/fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, toaster and American coffee pot.
