Rome Garden Apartment's Guestbook

Back to Rome Garden Apartment

Dear Julie:

I am happy to report that all went well in Rome and our Rome Garden Apartment. Above all, we absolutely LOVED the Rome Garden location. Being so near Piazza del Popolo, the Borghese Gardens, Il Corso, and the Flaminio subway stop was ideal. Plus, so many of the major tourist sites were within a short walk from our apartment -- including the Spanish Steps, the Fountain of Trevi, the Pantheon, and the Vatican. The apartment itself was wonderful. We loved the luxury of lounging around in our pajamas at night while sipping a glass of wine, planning the next day's events, or reminiscing about the current day's activities. We enjoyed the same lounging in the morning, this time sipping tea and eating fresh fruit and yogurt, before heading out for a full range of entertainment. We also were grateful for the two bathrooms, washer, dishwasher, indoor/outdoor patio, open-sitting area, bi-level effect, etc.

In addition, everything ran according to plan, and Hassan was a pleasant addition to the whole scheme. He was prompt, efficient, considerate, and professional. In short, I cannot imagine a stay in Rome during which I do not rent another apartment. The emotional (and financial) benefits are too many to enumerate.

Many thanks for the service you offer, and I will look forward to working with you again.

Grazie mille!

Hello there,

Thank you very much for all your help with our trip to Italy. And yes indeed, I have few notices about our stay.

OUR ACCOMODATION - ROME GARDEN APARTMENT
The location is really great, it is very close to all the monuments, as well as the tube station. I read somewhere that it is so up the hill that it is quite difficult to get there after a long walking sightseeing but I cannot agree. The only disadvantage is that it is close to the local train station so while inside of the house one can often feel the "earthquake" as the train passes by. This is nothing difficult to deal with, it's not really annoying but I think it's good to know in advance. I read about this on some other page so I wasn't suprised or scared but without knowing I might be.

The house is great, it might be kept better, it is to be seen that the owner doesn't really take but it's a beautiful spacious house with great interiour, not to mention the very best part - terrace which is breathtaking. However the bedroom is pretty cold, fortunately there was an electric heater we could use. There is one double room on the ground floor. On the first floor there is one bedroom with king-size bed and a studio (or you can also call it a bedroom) with bed that can easily hold two people (my mother in law and her brother, both of them around 60 yrs old slept there together). But it is important to mention that these rooms are connected and they cannot be separated anyhow. It´s rather like a 3- or 4-bedroom divided into two parts. Fortunately my parents found no problem in sharing the room with my mother in law and her brother :) but some people might. Of course there is also a living room with sofa.

We had some technical problems - there was a small flood on the floor kitchen floor the very first morning so we had to help the "portiere" to clean it. As a result there was no warm water in the apartment that day. There were also some permanent troubles with the "flush" of the toilette on the second floor. Things like this happen and this is how we took it, it was'nt anything we couldnt handle but maybe it should be better controlled in advance.

Still I want to point out again it's a very very great place and I certainly wouldn't hesitate in choosing that place for our next stay in Rome again. :)))

OTHER
There is a good place with take-away food right at the bottom of our street where you can get various meals including meat or pizza as well as drinks and just simply take it up the street and enjoy on the terrace. :)))

Other place to recommend - wonderful Osteria Margutta which is probably a chic jazz place in the evening but during the day it's a wonderful restaurant in the small but very charming Via Margutta full of small galleries. www.osteriamargutta.it. Really great traditional Roman atmosphere without crowds of tourists, delicious food and a very very nice service.

The Piazza del Popolo is beautiful but it is also full of immigrants selling roses. They are very annoying - at first they pretend they want to give you the rose but then of course they want to be paid. Beware, they are really really annoying and it is difficult to get rid of them - the more that you pass that square a couple of times a day. My advice - don't even look at them and never touch the rose! :)))

This is all that comes to my mind remembering those days. Since we got married during our stay in Rome, this will always be our very special in Rome although not the only one. I can only thank you again for all your advices and wish you all the best.

Dear Julie,

We were a party of six. We booked our accommodations through In Italy Online.

In Rome, we stayed at Rome Garden Apartment. In Positano we stayed at Positano Cliffside.

These accommodations exceeded our expectations. We are completely satisfied with the services provided by In Italy Online. All information passed to us before the trip was extremely accurate. In Italy Online was thoroughly accommodating to our needs and readily responded to all of our inquiries before our departure.  Most of all I found In Italy Online to be totally reliable. I could not find one single thing to complain about their support.

In Rome our point of contact was Hassan and he also was very accommodating and courteous. On the second day, Mrs. Ruffo, owner of the villa, stopped by and gave us a tour of the entire Villa grounds. The apartment had all necessities: bedding, towels, dishes, etc. It had a washer-no dryer. There was a Metro stop very close by at Piazza Flaminio. Apartment had a large outdoor patio which was ideal for relaxing with a glass of wine. Many good restaurants nearby in the vicinity of Piazza del Popolo.

Sincerely,
Robert G. M.
