On the third floor of an elevator building at the very heart of old Rome, this air-conditioned terrace apartment manages to be both central and quiet at the same time. Anyone who has stayed in a European metropolis knows how rare a combination that is! As if that weren't enough, Rome adds her own magic to the equation: step out your front door, turn left and wander through a warren of Renaissance streets unknown to most tourists; or turn right, walk five minutes and you'll find yourself tossing a coin into Trevi Fountain; or your third option, walk straight and in less than 10 minutes you're at the Forum. See what we mean about "centrally located"? And yet even here, you have the option of strolling off-the-beaten path on narrow streets trod mainly by locals and by students at the nearby Università della Sapienza, one of the world's oldest institutes of higher learning.

To reach this urban sanctuary, you take the elevator up to the third floor (Italian). This landing is shared by another apartment for 2+1, so groups of up to 6+2 can rent both and have the entire floor to themselves. The Terrace Apartment greets you with a spacious, well-lit entry that opens onto the large, sunny living room, where picture windows bring the greenery from the private terrace into the room all year round. There is also a dining table for six here, as well as a small but ultra-modern kitchenette equipped with a full fridge, two electric burners, oven, dishwasher, kettle and toaster. The furnishings include two sofas and two armchairs, just perfect for watching the flat-screen satellite TV; around the corner is an alcove with a very inviting sleigh bed for one person. Off the other side of the living room is the bedroom, furnished simply with a queen bed and closets, brightened by big French windows. Next door is the second bedroom, with two excellent daybeds. Both of these bedrooms are blessedly quiet, and each has a brand new en suite bathroom with shower. The apartment's other amenities include a washing machine, Internet connection, and a soothing gray-and-white color scheme that can only add to the overall tranquility.
