Rome Villa Borghese In-Town Apartments - Family Lodgings |

This is the perfect apartment for a family. In the first place, it is large, sunny, spotless, comfortable, and nicely but not expensively furnished. Second, it is in a great residential area directly in front of a major bus stop and right around the corner from a subway stop and a local train stop. Third, Rome’s huge public park, Villa Borghese, is just across the street. If you are taking young kids to Europe, being able to allow them a daily half hour or so of wild run-wherever-you-want-and-scream-as-loud-as-you-like time just might be a very good reason to choose this great air-conditioned apartment. And by the way, it is a 10-minute walk from the Spanish Steps; just slightly farther from Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. The Vatican and Ancient Rome – Coliseum, Forum, Palatino and Circus Maximus – are easily reached via that subway we mentioned above.
The apartment itself is in an elegant turn-of-the-last-century building surrounded by cafes, snack bars, take-out restaurants and family eateries which are more affordable than the ones in “tourist Rome,” just 200 yards away. The 46 steps you climb to get here are wide and straight, which makes them VERY easy to do. The front door of your 860-square-foot abode opens onto a very large living room with big windows, marble floors, table and chairs, double sleep sofa, Internet access and satellite TV. A long closet-lined hallway leads to the bedrooms, which face an inner courtyard. One room has a loft built above a desk – the loft has a full-size bed for one adult or two children. Farther down the hall is the master bedroom, with a queen bed and more closets. This is followed by the kitchen, featuring a half-fridge, four burners, microwave oven, dishwasher, sink, plenty of dishes and cookware. Lastly, there is a bathroom with stall shower, window and washing machine.
