Dear InItaly,
We had a wonderful trip for the most part. Siena is an incredible place and the Duomo apartment was perfect (well, except for the 4 floors of stairs but we knew that going into it). The apartment and the hostesses are both lovely and charming and the views from the apartment are breathtaking. They met us at one of the parking garages and gave us a ride to the apt which was a real plus since we have a 3 year old. They did the same when we left. Really the only downer of the trip was our rental car dying on us (we did not book it through your website) and the company taking a full day to replace it, so our Friday plans were a wash.
While not a “hidden” treasure but a treasure nonetheless is Cane e Gatto ristorante. Small, intimate, gracious hosts, terrific food and nice wines (limited selection but well-chosen), we had the best meal of our trip at this tiny place. Reservations a must but well worth it.
