Firenze Storico's Guestbook

Back to Firenze Storico

Dear In Italy staff,

My husband and I had a great trip to Italy. We were pleased with all of our accommodations. We really enjoyed being able to stay in our own small apartment. There was a supermarket closeby, so we were able to get food to prepare our breakfasts, some lunches and even one dinner. It was close to the Duomo, and easy to walk to all of the major attractions. I would definitely suggest this great little apartment for anyone going to Florence.

Thank you for helping us with our hotel accommodations.

Tanda L.

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that we enjoyed our apartment in Florence. It is a little rustic, but for the price, I don't think it can be beat. I do want to clarify that the reason we emailed you from Florence rather than call our Italian contact was that we thought the person who met us WAS the Italian contact, so there didn't seem to be any point. The lower kitchen/room in the apartment is definitely nicer than the upstairs kitchen with the sofa bed, which is much darker. Overall, I think it's a good value, and we were met promptly. I am definitely going to recommend you agency online and to friends. I use several travel websites and that is actually how I found you in the first place.

Thanks,
Joyce F.

Dear Initaly,

Thank you for your email regarding our trip. It was a wonderful experience traveling to Florence.

I don't know if these facts were mentioned previously, but should be to future guests of the Firenze Storico apts. We didn't know the importance of having a way to call our host if we were going to be arriving late. We arrived late due to flight delays and we had no phone, no key, no access to our apartment. Thankfully our CAB DRIVER called our host on his cell phone and got the access code so we could get into our apartment. Also, I wasn't aware that we would have to have $200. Euro cash for a security deposit. Everything worked out and we had a lovely, comfortable and quiet stay. Our host was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the location as well.

Thank you,
Megan B.

Jessica,

Our host was exactly on time and very nice, and we found the apartment exceeded our expectations. It was larger than we expected and generally lovelier in every way. We were pleased to find utensils for cooking already provided, plenty of extra blankets, and large windows. The location was also perfect--quiet and away from the hordes of tourists, but only a two minute walk from the Duomo, and very close to the post office and Standa, the market. We also met a very friendly man named Dominic, who owns a bike shop a few doors down from the apartment. Our entire week was without problems, which I am sure hardly happens on any holiday. We would love to stay at the Firenze Storico apartments again in the future.

Thank you for your help,
Elise, Andrew, and Amanda

Hello David!

Yes, we've been home for about two weeks now and are starting to get caught up. We had a wonderful time - I will try to relate things pertinent to things connected with In Italy otherwise I could go on too long!

I called Marco at Firenze Storico from the train station in Rome to let him know about when we would arrive at the apartment in Florence. I was slightly disconcerted as I got his voice mail (which simply restated the phone number in rapid Italian), but I left a message in my somewhat primitive Italian and hoped for the best. Sure enough, he was waiting when we arrived and couldn't have been more cordial. His English is great! The apartment was well organized and comfortable, though there was nowhere to sit down except on the bed or in the kitchen chairs. The bathroom was quite modern with a very nice hot shower (tho here like many places we've visited in Italy, it took several tries to actually get the toilet to flush). There were plenty of towels but I was glad I'd brought washcloths. Two light bulbs burned out but we found the supermercato and replaced them without difficulty. (A simple map showing the location of the supermarket would be a good thing to have available in the apartment.) We used your information to find the Laundromat on our last day in Florence and that was very helpful - also enjoyed the book exchange shop at the end of the street!

We took a cab to the rental car place at Marco's suggestion. (A very good idea.) He had told me to call 4242 to order the cab on the morning of our departure. What I didn't realize at first was that I had to include several other numbers first! When we got to the car place he asked if we both planned to drive the car, as there was an extra charge. I didn't remember this from when I booked the car, but it was not a big deal.

Our favorite restaurant in Florence was Il Ritrovo at Via de'Pucci, 4/A 055.281688 They were incredibly attentive, the food was fabulous, they offered special touches like a glass of sparking white wine when we arrived, an extra tuscan appetizer, etc, etc. A wonderful experience - we were there for three hours!

I have recommended your website to many others since we used it for our first trip to Italy in 2002, and I will certainly use it again for our next trip. Grazie mille!

Warmly,
Christine T.

Dear In Italy,

The Grocery store was great to have, and there is a fantastic bakery just a few steps from the front door. I would definitely stay there again if I were to stay in Florence. It was also nice and quite at night. I would suggest a few things though, 1) The person who met us spoke no english. Having someone who speaks English would be helpful, 2) The bathroom was excellent but an extra set of towels for longer stays would prevent a phone call. Otherwise, this apartment was much better for my wife and myself than any hotel would have been.

Thanks Julie,

We had a great stay at Firenze Storico. Maurizio met us and showed and got us into the apartment with no problem. It was a great location. We ended up renting a Vespa for a couple of days in Florence, which was a lot of fun if you have no fear. FYI, the only place that rents Vespas in Florence is a place called Alinali on via Guelfa near the train station.

Ciao,
Amy L.
