Size: Seven apartments sleeping 2 or 3 people each; every apartment has a living room with sofa, dining area and kitchenette, plus a separate bedroom with queen bed and a modern bathroom with tub and shower. Two apartments have canal view and an additional single bedroom; one apartment has a private terrace. Features: Central air conditioning, floor heating, satellite TV, hair dryer, shared laundry room with washer/dryer, fitness center with weights, stationary bike and treadmill. Minimum stay: Three nights. Disadvantages: No telephone. Car needed: Never!

Halfway between St. Mark's and the train station, it's within walking distance of almost everything, yet just off the beaten track -- and once you get to Venice you'll see that as little as one street corner can make the difference between Grand Central Station crowds and pure unmitigated ancient Venetian charm. During the day you'll purchase your fruits and vegetables off a boat, and after the sun sets you'll join the locals for fresh fish snacks at the bar in a deserted square, follow that up with seafood specialties at any of the countless canalside eateries, and perhaps top off the evening with a grappa and a stroll along the lagoon.

In the midst of this characteristic neighborhood, the owners of an abandoned silk manufactury recently finished a stunning ultra-modern renovation yielding seven bright, uncluttered apartments with five-star hotel amenities. Reached via a secret passageway that leads off the street, each of these air-conditioned units is on the ground floor with windows and doors facing a private inner garden where newly-dyed silks were hung to dry for centuries. Even more sunlight streams in through remote-control operated skylights, making the small but well-appointed rooms cheerful and inviting. All the furniture is sleek Italian modern design, colors are mostly white and black with splashes of red or orange, the stone floors are heated, the ceilings are graced with wood beams, and everything combines to provide an unadulterated modern look. Each unit has a large living room with sofa, dining table and chairs, satellite TV, and hideaway kitchenette with sink, mini fridge and two-burner cooktop (B Type apartments also have a microwave). A brand-new tiled bathroom features a bathtub and shower as well as skylight. All apartments have a spacious bedroom with queen bed and ample closet space. B Type apartments have an additional single bed, as well as a view of a charming canal right outside the door. One A Type apartment has a single sleep sofa in the living room. Another A Type apartment has a private balcony with table and chairs. The property is completed by a separate house with a coin-op washer and dryer, as well as an excellent fitness room with weights, stationary bike and treadmill.

Prices include: all taxes and services, electricity, gas, air conditioning or heating; one set of linens per person, final cleaning.
Not included in the price: 50 Euro if you arrive between 7:30pm and 11:30 pm; 60 Euro if you arrive after 11:30pm; 40 Euro if you arrive more than 30 minutes after the arrival time you have agreed upon; these late fees are paid in cash upon arrival. Also, for stays of more than seven nights, electricity, gas, air conditioning or heating are metered and paid according to use.

Please note that the third bed in the B Type Apartments is always in the living room and the bathrooms are en suite, so these apartments are suitable only for families.
A baby bed can be added for 70 Euros per stay and must be requested in advance.
