If you're an independent traveler with one day or even only part of a day to see Naples, a great way to get around is the classic red London-style double-decker bus. Naples offers no less than five lines, and since your ticket is valid for 24 hours on any of them, you can get on and off as much as you want. From the formidable fortress facing one of the world's most fabled bays, travel up the hill to Capodimonte, where you can visit the porcelain museum and the King's palace and picture gallery, then enjoy a picnic in one of Europe's loveliest parks; afterwards, travel halfway down the hill to the Spanish Quarter, where you'll stroll the colorful alleys, peek into a dozen extravagant churches, browse in countless tiny artisan shops and treat yourself to a yummy sweet snack purchased from a window in the wall. The glories of Naples can easily fill an entire day, and the Hop On-Hop Off Bus makes navigating them so much easier. There are over a dozen stops through the city, and if you purchase your ticket online, you can board the bus at any of them. On board, your hostess will give you disposable earphones for an audio guide in 8 languages (Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese and Russian).
All buses are wheelchair accessible.
Tickets become valid when you board the first bus. They cost 22 Euro/adult; 11 Euro/child 5-15 years old; accompanied children 0-4 years old ride free of charge.
