The Vasari Corridor is one of the most tantalizing treasures in all Italy. Serious art lovers have been trying to visit it for years, usually with no success. Now we are very happy to offer private guided tours of the Corridor and the Uffizi Museum. Our guide will meet you at your hotel or apartment in central Florence, stroll with you to the Uffizi, show you the highlights of Renaissance art for 90 minutes, and then take you into the covered passageway built in 1564 by Giorgio Vasari to link Pitti Palace, the Grand Duke of Tuscany's home, with his offices (uffizi).

A
lmost one kilometer long, the passageone kilometer long, the passageway crosses the Arno atop the goldsmiths' shops which have lined Ponte Vecchio since 1593, when the butcher shops that had always been there were removed to avoid offending the Grand Duke's sensitive nose. At the other end of the Arno, the corridor goes through the church of Santa Felicita, along the rooftops, into the Guicciardini family gardens and the Boboli gardens, ending up at the royal apartments in the Pitti Palace.

The corridor was restored and reopened to the public in 1973, but it can only be visited by appointment or by groups or now, with our private guides. Splurge on this very unique opportunity and you will enjoy a plethora of magnificent and rarely-seen views over the city, as well as some 1000 17th- and 18th-century paintings, and a fascinating collection of self-portraits by Andrea del Sarto, Beccafumi, Bernini, Annibale Carracci, Guido Reni, Salvator Rosa, Rubens, Canova, Hayez, Corot, Ingres, Delacroix, Ensor and many other masters.
