This small modern hotel is extremely well located if you wish to stay in the Amalfi Coast area without a car. It’s right in the heart of lively Sorrento, less than 10 minutes’ walk from all the shops, restaurants and transportation. But unlike most of the downtown hotels, it also has a swimming pool and a nice sun deck. Rooms are spotless and sunny, and the staff is friendly and welcoming.

Location: 100 yards from the main square in Sorrento; one block from the train station and 10 minutes’ walk from the boat docks. You do not need a car and you will not need to take taxis. Walk two blocks to the Circumvesuviana commuter train, which goes to Naples, Pompeii and Herculaneum; or walk five minutes to the main square, Piazza Tasso. Walk just five minutes more to the Sorrento docks, where you can get the hydrofoil to Naples, all points on the Amalfi Coast, and Capri. Rooms: 121 on six floors, including singles, doubles, triples and quads. All rooms have a private bathroom with bathtub and shower (except singles, which have a stall shower). Triple rooms have one queen bed or two single beds plus a daybed. Features: Air conditioning (May-October), Vietri tile floors, big mirrors, wardrobes with good drawer space, central heating, direct-dial telephone with modem, safe large enough for a small laptop, satellite TV, pay TV, broadband Internet access, mini bar, hair dryer. Facilities: Elevator, swimming pool with big sundeck, room service, American buffet breakfast, parking nearby for 12 Euro/night.
