Hotel Victoria

If you have ever seen La Dolce Vita, you know that Via Veneto has been the center of Rome's night life for decades now. Posh, classy and fun, it is not only the place to see and be seen, but it is also an elegant neighborhood filled with designer boutiques, classic restaurants and sidewalk cafes where you are sure to see any movie stars that happen to be in town. Think "Champs Elysées on Villa Borghese"! At the top of this vibrant European avenue is one of the best-preserved stretches of ancient city wall, and visible above its ramparts are the majestic canopies of the umbrella pines that inspired Respighi to write I Pini di Roma - and which tower over one of the world's most picturesque municipal gardens. Just around the corner from Via Veneto, facing the wall and the park, is this venerable hotel, built in 1899 and completely renovated in the last few years.

Location: On Via Campania, 100 yards from Via Veneto and across from Villa Borghese. You can walk to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. The other landmarks are easily reached by subway. The car rental agencies are all one or two blocks away. Click here to see a map.
