Albergo Lenno's Guestbook

Back to Albergo Lenno

Dear Albergo Lenno,

My husband Stephen and I had a wonderful time in Lake Como on our recent holiday. Staying at your hotel and receiving wonderful attention from everyone who worked there was a highlight of our trip. The people of Lenno, Lake Como are lovely.  Thank you so much for the hospitality.

Sincerely yours,
Carolyn D.

Dear In Italy Online,

We have finally settled back into our daily routine after a super trip to Italy in April.
We flew into Verona via Rome (It is interesting to note that we loaded and unloaded via stairs from the plane and then boarded buses to the terminals.) The next two nights were spent in Lenno on Lake Como. Highly recommended! A bit pricey, but worth the visit. Right outside our hotel was a boat station where you could pick up a ferry to anywhere on Lake Como. We had a room that had a balcony that overlooked the most spectacular view! Snow-capped mountains, the lake, and the houses and churches that dotted the hillsides. Beautiful! The cafe down the street was perfect for late afternoon lunch and the homemade pasta was superb. We took a ferry to Bellagio. It was a hydroplaned ferry and quite zippy! Bellagio had many side "streets" (More like cobbled walkways with very wide steps that were easy to climb.) We entered several shops and one in particular was very interesting. It was a wine tasting shop where you could pay for a card that you inserted in a slot above a wine you wanted to taste. The shopkeeper, Lorenzo, was very nice and could speak English fairly well. Needless to say we left with 4 bottles that we had throughout the trip. (We had picked up some simple wine glasses while in Verona at a sort of department/grocery store. Well worth it.....who wants to sip wine out of plastic cups when you are viewing such incredible sights?)

The next 3 nights were spent in Desenzano at Lake Garda. We stayed at Castello Belvedere. Again, a view you only dream of....and the owner, Mauro, is a character. He is quite helpful if you are looking for a grocery store, place to eat or any kind of touristy questions. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment/ condo with a terrace overlooking the infinity pool, Lake Garda, the mountains and the surrounding town. We spent one day just relaxing and enjoying the view. Highly recommend the restaurant next door. (As I had read on your site from others, it was great food, atmosphere and a warm, friendly staff). The restaurant is family run at a farm. We ate all but one meal there and made some nice aquaintances. Our waitress knew some English, but at times she had us playing pictionary, which was quite creative! Our 13 year old son loved that. It got so when we came in they knew what we wanted (ie. to drink). It was a very homey atmosphere. They serve lunch and dinner except on Mondays. There was a really interesting, showy dinner of their version of macaroni and cheese, involving a flaming wheel of parmasean and a tomatoey pasta combo. Worth the show! Breakfasts were had on our terrace. (We had visited a local grocery store. In order to get a cart from a locked queue you need to insert a euro. We had to finally ask a patron -via charades- how to unlock the carts. We got pretty good at charades.) Everything is so fresh!

During one of our days in Desenzano we decided to venture out for a day of tourism and see Venice. It was about 1 hour and 45 minutes by car. Venice was beautiful. We got there quite early (about 7:30AM) as we were told we should to get a parking space at Tronchetto Parking garage. (20 euros a day) Took a boat bus, for lack of a better name, to St. Marks Square area. We were approached by a member of the Venetian Chamber of Commerce who presented us with a promotional pass to Muranoto see the glass blowing. He showed us a badge and spoke English quite well. It was a Thursday and they wanted to get people to Murano. My husband and I were a bit leary about accepting the trip, but we did and it turned out fine. I don't recommend doing something like that, because you don't know if it could be a scam. We were lucky. He took us to a taxi boat and we were toured thru canals and on to Murano. No fee. Once we got there we had a great presentation of how the glass is manipulated and then were taken to several rooms of exquisite piece after piece of chandeliers, gold leafed glasses, vases, sculpture etc. We were given a bit of a hard sell and our guide was not all too happy we did not spend $1000s of euros on some glass chandaliers that they would pack and ship especially for us at a "very reasonable price." Once she noted we were not going to buy the expensive pieces we were finally directed to the gift store where the prices were much more reasonable and the pieces items one could carry back home. WE then had a quick bit to eat in Murano, a sweet little town and worth the visit, and then back to St. Marks on the boat bus. We saw and fed the pigeons (1 euro for a bag of corn), went to a museum Scuola Grande S. Roccothat has a different view of the more famous Last Supper and many other beautiful works of art, took a gondola ride (we didn't barter and should have, because it was 100 euros for an hour.....which was not really quite an hour). We took the local boat bus thru the Grand Canal back to Tronchetto to head home. Highly recommend a ride down the Grand Canal......whatever mode you choose.

And so you have our trip to Italy. Researching different items on your website made the trip that much more enjoyable. Thanks for all of your suggestions and for the information you provide. It's a service that is well worth the review prior to a trip to Italy.

Lisa B.

Dear In Italy,

We had a great time and, once again, your website steered us to a great hotel. We stayed at Albergo Lenno on Lake Como for four nights. The location is fantastic. The hotel is located in a small cove which gives it a very peaceful feeling, but the hotel is very close to a ferry stop so it is easy to get to all the small towns on the lake. There is a small promenade with restaurants and gelateria which made for pleasant evening strolls. We got upgraded to a three bedroom apartment with two balconies, a view of the lake and a huge bathroom. The other couple in our party had a very nice double room with a view of the lake. It seemed that we were the only Americans at the hotel, which defintely added to the vacation experience, particularly for our children. Free internet access in the lobby was an unexpected benefit. The hotel staff was very helpful in recommending restaurants and even offered to make reservations for us.

Villa Carlotta is a must see -- beautiful grounds and an interesting villa -- and is only five minutes from Lenno.

We rented a car at the Milan airport and drove to the hotel. Having a car gave us the ability to drive to other small towns on the same side of the lake -- Tremezzo and Menaggio are not far from Lenno. The route from the airport to Lake Como is direct and easy to follow. Our next stop was Venice, so we took a car ferry across the lake and then began the drive to Venice.

We took a day trip to Milan (drove to the Como train station and took the train to Milan) to see the Last Supper, the Duomo and the Galleria. It was somewhat of a long day, but we were able to see quite a bit of the city.

Thanks again for your help.
Sonia S.

Hi folks.

We had a great time in Italy. My wife and I stayed for 6 nights at Albergo Lenno. For 3 of those nights my son and his wife stayed at the same place. All reservations were made via In Italy Online and everything was perfect: thanks a lot!  The folks at Albergo Lenno were great to us and if we should ever return to the Lake Como area, we would head right back here.

Through your website, we got in touch with Auto Europe and rented a car. Again, everything was just fine. As a suggestion though, in its area that talks about what driving in Italy is like, your website could consider advising potential car renters about the joys of refueling rental vehicles before returning to the rental agency. All fueling stations in the Milan Malpensa airport area are completely unattended. Fuel must be purchased through machines that will accept cash in denominations of 5 or 20 euro notes (no receipt or change issued), or bank cards with 5 digit pin numbers. If your pin number isn't 5 digits, the card won't work. The machines have disabled their ability to accept credit cards. So it's cash (no receipt, be prepared to argue at the car agency), or bank cards with 5 digit pin numbers. No problems for us, but others should be prepared for what they have to do to get fuel near the airport.

Once again, thanks for all your help in our latest Italian trip!

Ciao,
Darwin R.

Dear In Italy,

Our trip was absolutely wonderful, it was the return home that was bad as we both got sick. Lake Como was breath-taking. The hotel was great, the location perfect and the room was more than we expected.

Thanks again,
Jackie S.

Dear InItaly,

Thanks for you email - it has been a month and a half since our return from Italy and we are still talking about it to anyone who will listen. Despite living in the UK we had never travelled to Italy before and we both fell in love with the country and the people.

We used the train. On the suggestion of my wife's brother-in-law, we booked all our tickets in advance. We went First Class and in total our 5 train journeys cost £130 for the 2 of us (£65 each - you could hardly get one First Class 3 hour train journey for this price in the UK!). The trains were all on time & our reserved seats clearly marked - it was a joy to travel. We also found that Italian buses too are reliable and very cheap - 45 minute bus journey from Lenno to Como (all down one side of the lake so great views) cost under 5 Euros for both my wife & I.

Firstly we stayed at the Albergo Lenno on Lake Como. Pay for a room at the front overlooking the Lake (as we did) because the view is stunning. The Hotel is perfectly situated 10 metres from the landing stage. The staff are extremely courteous, the room we had was huge and breakfast is taken on a terrace overlooking the lake & mountains - a most romantic setting. the pool is also very pleasant. The hotel has a very good restaurant but the cost of an evening meal was more expensive than most of the local restaurants. Lenno itself is a beautiful, quiet town set in its own bay and has a lovely promenade to walk along. There are a small number of restaurants but all provide good food at reasonably prices. Lenno is very well placed to take the ferry around the central part of the lake - Varenna, Bellagio and Villa Carlotta are well worth a visit.

All in all we had a wonderful 18 night Northern & Central Italy tour. It was relaxing but also exhilarating - leaving us wanting more. Initaly - your website and hotel details were very accurate & we thank you for all the help you gave us. We will be using you again - probably to book our 25th wedding anniversary trip to Venice in March of 2008. Any recommendations?

John & Jo (UK)

Kristin,

Got back yesterday. United lost our luggage, but that's not a problem -- it'll show up. We wanted to let you know what a great time we had and thank you again (and again and again!) for all your help in setting this up. You were right on every single count. Albergo Lenno was a wonderful place to stay. The folks there are friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to help. The rooms were as comfortable as one could hope for: not fancy, but not plain either; just the kind of relaxing room one wants at the end of the day. The situation of the hotel was so convenient -- just across the street from the boat landing. And -- a bonus -- we had no problems whatsoever with street noise, so w slept very well every night.

You were right also about the car. Even though we used it only once (we drove into Switzerland to view medieval castles), we were happy to have it. Trains would have slowed us down a lot. And by the way: The car was good and the folks at the rental agency were most helpful.

So thanks again. We'll definitely get in touch with you again for our next trip to Italy. And we'll definitely continue to tell everyone about how fantastic In Italy Online is!

Bruce K.

Dear In Italy,

We had a wonderful time, and it was one of the most beautiful places we have ever visited.

Albergo Lenno was a very nice hotel, right on lakefront, the room we had was lake view with a small balcony and was very spacious and had air conditioning which was important because it did get hot, and if street was noisy you can close window and use AC (only somewhat noisy one night) – we would definitely recommend lake view with balcony if someone stays there. The staff were particularly helpful and extremely nice and made the experience even nicer. It was a perfect choice for us and I would recommend it to others. It was also family friendly – while we were there with our 25 year old daughter in a separate room, there were families there with smaller children and there was a nice pool at the hotel.

The only problem with the town of Lenno is that it is small and quiet (which we wanted), and the last regular boat from the small towns on the lake to Lenno arrives at 7pm – so you couldn’t have evening dinner in Bellagio and get back to Lenno by boat, and there wasn’t a huge choice of restaurants like you might find in Como or Bellagio. There are a number of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, some on the lakefront, which were fine but not very fancy or gourmet. Importantly, there was a gelato stand right now the street which we went to nightly!  If you had a car and were willing to drive the teeny tiny streets, you could drive to another town for dinner; we did have a car but chose not to drive but stay local. For us, this was fine, as we did not want the bustle of a city. But if someone wants a lot of nightlife, that would not be here.

We spent the week taking boats to little towns on the lake and walking around and visiting villas, gardens and castles. Our favorite town was Varenna – beautiful town, gorgeous garden on lakefront at monastery villa, and a castle to climb to with falconry demonstrations – we walked up to hotel Eremo Gaudio which has a terrace restaurant for lunch that is high up above the lake with gorgeous views. This looked like another very interesting hotel to stay at, the views were fantastic from the balcony, we did not see the rooms which were even higher up and you have to take a funicular to get to.

Bellagio was also beautiful and you could walk around the small towns near it. Mennagio was also nice and the information booth area had instructions on hiking trials which were climbed up over the town with great views of the lake. Tremezzo had a villa (Villa Carlotta) with a huge garden area and you could also go in the villa which had paintings and was also quite interesting. We also visited a villa and gardens you could walk to from Lenno that was very scenic. One day we drove into Switzerland to Bellazona, which is a town with three castles that were quite interesting to visit. Our least favorite day was the day we took the rapid boat to Como , which was very busy and crowded; we did visit the museum that had an impressionist exhibit. But we really favored the small towns that we could spend the day walking through.

Thanks for all your help.
Lynne M.

Dear In Italy,

We were so happy with Albergo Lenno. It is right at the ferry terminal, along a small quiet cove. The inn has rose gardens, porches, roof terrace, pool, nice lobby with big soft armchairs and a 24 hour bar. Oh, and two computers hooked up to the internet in the lobby plus wireless in the rooms.

The rooms with lake view and terrace are the best. We had two of them for our weekend stay. The staff are friendly, helpful, just really special. They have a fixed menu in the dining room. We walked down the waterfront to Albergo Plinio, which had a very good menu for dinner. It is next to a cafe with snacks, ice cream, etc. The best tortellini I had on the trip, filled with ricotta and spinach and served with fried sage. My husband had sauteed lake perch, and they were delicious. Further on around the waterfront is the happening place. A bar with a sand beach and music, something for those who want to drink and dance.

We went into Tremezzo for a dinner also, but nothing special.

I would definitely recommend Albergo Lenno for a beautiful quiet spot. Albergo Plinio is a two-star inn, and I would not want to stay there, but the food was very very good.

Thank you for handling our reservations and questions. It was a great trip.

Dear In Italy,

Our trip to Italy was wonderful, and our stay at the Albergo Lenno was perfect. Clean, nice, great staff, perfect location to explore the Lake Como region. Special thanks to Lucca and Alberto, who work the front desk at the hotel. They were extremely helpful!

Ciao!
Glenn and Jamie M.

Dear In Italy,

Thank you so much for asking, we had a marvelous time. You folks are the absolute best! Your prompt, efficient assistance with each and every inquiry and booking of ours was absolutely invaluable...even the last minute changes...just incredible. I've already given your name to many friends.

The Hotel Lenno was the only hotel that was a little stuffy and had food that was acceptable but not great. The rooms here were stark and cold feeling. The location, however, was great for jumping on a boat or water taxi right out front and traveling anywhere around the lake. We enjoyed our Lerici accommodations and location. Also, the walking tour of Florence was fantastic and the perfect choice when we had less than twenty-four hours there.

Thank you to everyone at InItaly.com for a fantastic adventure in Italy.

Val D.

Dear In-Italy folks,

We used your site for the Albergo Lenno, on Lake Como. The Albergo Lenno was just as advertised. The location was great, the people very friendly, and the rooms, though a bit modern and Ikea-like, were clean and more than adequate. The breakfasts were fine – fresh and simple. The fact that the ferry stopped right outside the hotel was a big plus. All things considered, the Lenno met or even slightly exceeded our expectations.

Thanks,
Joe K.

Thank you,

Yes we are back after a great holiday of which our stay at Albergo Lenno is a very happy memory. Having booked off internet and not having any knowledge of the Italian Lakes we were not very sure what we would find. It occured to us that a room with balcony and lake view might have been somewhere at the back of a town with views over the roof-tops. However to our delight we were right next to the lake in an idyllic setting. Well up to our aspirations when we booked.

All the Best
Patrick W.

Hello!

We had a marvelous time. Our stay at the Albergo Lenno was everything we were hoping and more....what a great location, wonderful hotel, pleasant staff, etc. We look forward to another trip to the Lake Como area in the next few years and will be sure to contact you again to book it.

Grazie,
Laura M.

Hello:

We had a great trip to Italy even though they were having a heatwave! Above normal temps during the day. Hotel Lenno at Lake Como was spectacular! The view was tremendous and I recommend getting the lake view rooms if possible. The staff here was also very helpful particularly in trying to figure out the boat schedule! The hotel dining room was quite nice and dinners were wonderful. Lenno is one of the smaller quieter towns along the lake, but just as beautiful and strategically placed midway up the western fork making it very easy to get to the other tourist spots along the lake. We recommend both of these places highly, each very different from the other, but providing unique experiences in accommodations.

Kate S.

Dear In Italy,

Our trip was FABULOUS! I could live anywhere in Italy! After our guided tour ended in Milan, we spent 5 days on Lake Como. It was very easy taking the train from Milan airport to Saronno, switch trains to Como then we caught the ferry to Lenno. The Albergo Lenno was wonderful. The hotel staff were very friendly and the hotel dining room was excellent! We traveled by boat (ferry and hydrofoil) all over the lake, all the way to Colico. The boats were always on time. That was a surprise, as we had heard not to rely on trains, etc being on time in Italy. That certainly was not our experience!

Elizabeth M.

Dear In Italy,

We had a lovely time in Lenno, the staff were exceptionally helpful but we do have one complaint. We specifically asked you for a lake FRONT view room with balcony and we got a side view room. The staff could only change us for the last night and we realized even more what we had been missing! The restaurant you recommended San Stefano was only ok got the impression they have got too complacent whereas there is a place called Plino just fifty yards down the road from the hotel with a lakefront terrace, staff very friendly and food good. There is also a lovely artificial beach just 300 yards around the inlet from the hotel where one can sunbathe, swim and eat with good sunbeds for only 3 euro /day. Would recommend this area in early and late summer but too crowded in July /August according to locals. If we booked this hotel again with you can you guarantee we would get a lake front room?

Yours sincerely,
Paul B.

Dear In Italy,

I feel most remiss about not having written about my stay in lenno. It was truly beautiful, i was given the best accommodation available at albergo lenno. I want to thank you all so very much for all your help and i could not recommend the accommodation more highly. I am sorry that my reply has taken so very long, however, i was quite ill last year.

Again, thankyou.
Sincerely,
Helen S.

Dear In Italy,

We enjoyed our trip very much and were very pleased for the most part with our arrangements through Italy Online.

We did have to pay twice for our reservations at the Doge’s Palace in Venice, and I will be sending the receipt for the double payment to you for refund or for credit on our Mastercharge. This was the only reservation we had without a confirmation number and the local people were not able to trace the prior payment without the confirmation number. The other museum reservation we had for Venice was fine and the two museum reservations we had for Florence were also fine. The Doge’s Palace was our only glitch.

Our hotel reservations worked very well. We were very pleased with the Albergo Lenno at Lake Como. We wish we had booked the reservations you suggested to us for Florence as our hotel there was not as convenient as the other two places. Both of the accommodations far exceeded our expectations for location, ambience and comfort. In both cases, the price charged was fair.

Thank you for helping us plan our trip. We have recommended the website to a group of friends who are planning to visit Italy in September and hope they will take advantage of your services.

Elizabeth F.

Dear In Italy,

We had a great trip in Italy. We loved our first night lodging at Albergo Lenno on Como Lago. We figured out how to use the trains (Malpensa Express to Sorento, then changed trains to one for Como Lago) followed by one batello ride, and we arrived with no problems. Thank you for helping us to make the last minute hotel arrangements for this neat destination. We loved our third floor room with balcony and pool and lake views. We wished we could've stayed longer.

I have to admit, in these days of internet fraud and scams, I was more than a little hesitant to commit my credit card number to initaly.com. The site just has a home-brewed look to it. Yet the sheer volume of material you have available helped to allay my doubts. I'm so pleased that it worked out and the hotel had no hesitation accepting the documents you provided. What a relief! You can be sure that I'll be back for our next trip to Italy.

I also appreciated your links to Cellular Abroad. We rented a pair of cell phones and we were quite pleased with that success as well.

Thank you again for contributing to the success of our journey!

Best regards,
Jey Y.

Dear In Italy,

We loved Albergo Lenno. The staff were fabulous, our room had glorious views and the location was perfect. The only thing we needed was an extra month to enjoy it!

Thanks,
Patricia M.

Dear In Italy,

Thank you for being so kind as to inquire about our stay at your hotel. Yes, we really enjoyed ourselves and had a wonderful time but of course it is good to be back home. Lenno was such a quaint little town and was a very good choice although not many restaurants to choose from. It was a little disappointing to have to stay in our little area each nite. Only if we wanted to pay a large amount could we go elsewhere for a good meal (in the evenings because of the ferry schedule). You had a great breakfast each morning and was a delight to sit outside on the patio each morning.

I only have one gripe and that would be the rooms needed to be updated. The furniture had had a lot of wear and tear and the bed we slept in was hard as a rock and was hard to get to sleep at night.

One big compliment was to the gentleman at the front desk and of course I did not get his name but he was so helpful. Each morning I would come to the desk and bug him to no end about which boat to take and could he make reservations for us for that evening and he was always very accommodating. If he minded he certainly didn't show it. He was thin and had dark hair. That is all I can tell you.

We loved Lake Como and Lenno and we will definitely be back.

Ciao!
Kara P.

Dear In Italy,

I am writing to let you know how much we enjoyed our recent 3 night stay at Albergo Lenno, which we booked through your website. From the moment we arrived we were treated like returning friends and the small, friendly staff could not do enough for us, i.e.-making reservations for a tour of the nearby Villa Balbionello, giving us taxi and water taxi information as well as making reservations in other restaurants for us. We never felt that they were doing this for a tip, and were extremely happy when we recompensed them for their time. The accommodations were lovelier than they looked on the website - an uncommon occurrence- and were clean, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. The kitchen was so good that we ate in the hotel dining room for 2 of the 3 nights and would have been glad to make it 3 nights - but they had booked a wedding there.

We want you to know that we would definitely book another stay in Italy through your website and will recommend it to our friends and family. It was really a pleasure to be treated with honesty and efficiency. Bravo!

Sincerely,
Rosemary V.

Jessica,

I got home earlier this evening and am tired and VERY jet-lagged (long trip from Europe to San Francisco). I will tell you that Albergo Lenno was absolutely terrific. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful with suggestions regarding dining, sightseeing, etc. Our room was spacious, comfortable and recently renovated. Would I stay there again? You bet!! And, I have already recommended Albergo Lenno to my sister-in-law.

Steve H.

Dear Jessica,

We indeed had a marvelous stay at the Albergo Lenno, which we found absolutely perfect in many ways: the scenery, the fabulous hotel room with stunning view at Lenno Bay, the service, the breakfast at the terrace, the free parking in your garage and-so-on. We really hope to return here once again!

Maybe a minor suggestion: since we had splendid weather conditions we spent a couple of hours at the swimming pool where hardly any sun-shades were available, but this is really the only thing I can think of!

Thanks once again,
ciao from Holland,
Tom & Desiree F.

Jessica,

Italy was, as usual, all of the good things you mentioned. Nothing new to report from the Lenno. It was the same great place that we've experienced many times before. It's really a wonderful hotel to use as an operating base, or to simply hang-out.

What was new for this trip was IN ITALY. We were very impressed by the way you folks do things, and we're looking forward to using your services in the future. Thanks for a very professional, and at the same time personable approach.

A and J G.

Dear Jessica,

My partner Chuck and I had a wonderful weekend in Lenno. The Albergo Lenno could not be faulted, given that it was adjacent to the ferry terminal, and was but a short walk from several very agreeable restaurants and watering holes!

Of particular interest was the small man-made Lido approx 1.5km walk from the Albergo. As a late night experience in Italian ambience, it truly took some beating.

All in all a very agreeable weekend, and one that we would thoroughly recommend.

Kind regards
Paul L.

Hello Jessica,

We really enjoyed our stay at Albergo Lenno. This time of the year it was very quiet and beautiful. Hotel was comfortable and hosts were very nice and accommodating. It is very easy to miss the tiny street where you need to turn to go to the hotel. Specially, if you arrive in the evening.

Thank you,
RP

Dear In Italy,

My wife and I loved Lenno and thought we stayed in a perfect place. The hotel and staff were very friendly and efficient. Gave us a very nice room and helped us get around the lake. Our only regret is that we were not there with the kitchen open, the pool, etc. The trade off for travelling off season as we like to do.

Hello David,

Sorry for the delay in answering. We did have a wonderful trip but more importantly, we are so happy to have found your site. I would trust anything on your site having used some of your property and advice on this trip. We will certainly recommend it to others.

To answer your questions:

Albergo Lenno was an absolutely charming place. It was easy to find and our room was spacious and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the lake of which we took great advantage! Easy covered parking, also. Breakfast was just right with fresh fruit and meats in addition to the usual fare. The ferry dock was a mere few hundred feet in front of the hotel. Despite it being off season the weather was unseasonably warm and all the ferries and hydrofoils were running on the lake despite the schedules to the contrary. One advantage of Albergo Lenno is the close proximity of "snack" and better restaurants. An easy, very pretty walk meaning one did not have to drive the narrow roads at night. The Tuesday street market is not to be missed and begins just a half a block from the hotel. Owners and staff were more than accommodating for whatever our need and gave helpful advice on sightseeing, even in Milano!

This was not our first trip to Italy but certainly one of the best thanks to the hints and advice from your site. We appreciate your help.

Dee F.

Hello David,

Thank you for your home welcoming. Our trip went very well and we enjoyed our stay at Albergo Lenno. The people running the facility were wonderful and very accommodating. I will recommend both your company and the Albergo.

Thanks,
Frank A.

Hello, Jessica,

We absolutely loved every one of your recommendations. Our trip to Italy was fantastic. I want to thank you so much for your help. Your site was by far the most informative web site we found and I greatly appreciate the level of attention you clearly pay to your recommendations.

Albergo Lenno - we loved this spot on Lake Como. We were so glad not to be staying in Bellagio or Como. Lovely towns, but they have a busy touristy feel. Lenno was a lovely quiet town and the hotel, sitting right on the water was lovely. My only feedback is that we learned at this hotel that specifying that 5 family members, looking for two rooms, did not guarantee that the rooms would be adjoining. As we were traveling with children, we assumed we would be located close to them and, instead, we were located in a separate wing. They knew we were a family, but assumed we were a family of adults and wouldn't mind being separated. It worked out fine, but if I had younger children, it would have been a concern. Somehow on the reservation it would be good to be able to specify if the rooms desired need to be nearby. The food and service otherwise was impeccable.

Once again, I cannot thank you enough for your help with our trip. I will happily and confidently recommend you to anyone I know going to Italy.

Sara K.

Dear In Italy,

Thank you for your message. We had a wonderful holiday and we were delighted with Albergo Lenno, its location, hospitality and efficiency. We were not on half board so cannot comment on the dinners - our rooms were absolutely satisfactory and good, though the air conditioning was not working properly in either of our rooms. Otherwise, the staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly and we will definitely consider returning.

Yours sincerely,
Sally D.

Hello,

Thanks for asking about our experience with Albergo Lenno. This hotel more than met our expectations. It was quiet and lovely, with extremely helpful and friendly staff. Our room was large and clean, a well-appointed, modern bathroon, with good lake views (although if we'd been up one more story the lakeside trees wouldn't have obstructed our view). The terrace breakfast was excellent, and helped to create a peaceful beginning to each day. One morning the local market was set up on the narrow street outside the hotel; it was small and charming. For exercise, we ran up into the hilly neighborhood above the hotel one morning, where we enjoyed fantastic lake views. Finally, it was a good town from which to explore the area--great to have a place to park a car. Thanks for your help with this booking. It was a great way to begin our European vacation.

Pat S.

Dear In Italy,

The Albergo Lenno was a really nice hotel. We had a room with two beautiful views from large windows. The room was HUGE and had a really nice bathroom. The breakfast buffet that came with the room was great (much better than any other we had in Italy!) The only problem with Lenno is that there is really nothing to do there, but the boat dock is right outside the hotel, so you can easily visit Bellagio and the other towns.

Darryl
