River Palace Hotel's Guestbook

Back to River Palace Hotel

Dear Jessica,

Yes, we had a marvelous trip! The River Palace Hotel is lovely. The lobby appeared small at first, but it extends around the corner and has comfortable sofas, chairs and coffee-style tables--- a very inviting area to sit and talk. There is a well stocked bar up two steps. A hallway leads to the restaurant where they serve a breakfast buffet, and dinner. It is quite a nice breakfast buffet and the service was excellent.

Our room was small, which was not a problem to us, and was furnished beautifully with very comfortable beds. There was a note of welcome written by the General Manager Michele Scandellari. The bathroom is all marble, floors and walls. The towels were thick as were the robes.

When we landed in Rome our luggage didn’t! The front desk was very helpful in contacting Alitalia. We especially want to mention Susanna and Massamino (we realize this was not a River Palace Hotel problem), but, they were very considerate of our situation. I hope I am spelling their names correctly. We contacted Giorgio on the third day without luggage as only promises had been given by Alitalia. Within 24 hours our luggage was delivered!! It was in Rome Airport all that time, but Alitalia could or would not be bothered to really search. Hooray for Giorgio.

The area where the River Palace Hotel is located is very good. Restaurants are nearby and the Piazza Popolo is within a five minute walk. Off-putting when you first arrive to the hotel was the graffiti on the walls of the surrounding buildings. We were concerned about the neighborhood, but it was perfectly safe to walk there night or day.

Our car was delivered to the River Palace in a timely manner, as promised by Patrick. It was the car Patrick suggested for four adults and luggage and all went very well. Thank you Patrick!

This was a wonderful trip, not withstanding our late issue. We would stay at the hotels again, but In Italy has so many other marvelous recommendations we need to explore.

Mille grazie,
Don and Barbara O.

Dear Kristin and Fabio,

I just wanted to drop you a quick note to say we had a "Fantastico" time. The hotel was great.  When we arrived, we informed them that we had an additional person and they were more than happy to accommodate our needs.  I will definitely refer your services and would book through you again.

Ciao!

Hi Jessica

I want to thank you for all of your help prior to our leaving on the trip. River Palace Hotel was much more than we expected, and the staff was so helpful. To our surprise they've now opened their restaurant for lunch and dinner, which was appreciated as the weather was a bit rainy and cold for us in the evening.

One thing I did want to mention was our guide to the Vatican, Peter. He was so helpful. My husband was having difficulties walking and so was not going to go on our tour. Peter informed us that the Vatican has wheelchairs on premises to use....we loaded up in the car and had a wonderful tour of the Vatican, with either Peter or myself pushing the wheelchair. I could not thank him enough for thinking to tell me before we left the hotel.

Thanks again for your help, I highly recommend In Italy to anyone wanting to
travel there.

Dena S.

Dear Jessica,

We can't stop thinking about the wonderful time we had in Italy, and highly commend your service for helping in planning our trip. We certainly will recommend Initaly.com to our friends. You made the planning so easy and everything went exactly as planned. We loved the River Palace. Not only is it well appointed, but it is in a very convenient location. We could walk to many of the sights and shopping areas. While there, we ventured to use the Metro. It truly was an adventure, but so easy and inexpensive to use. The personnel at River Palace were exceptionally accommodating, especially Max who overly extended himself to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was very good as it offered a variety of meats, cheeses, and traditional breakfast foods.

We thank all of you at In Italy for helping to make our trip to Italy so perfect and so memorable.
Every aspect of our plans and all of your recommendations were met with the highest level of satisfaction.

Fondly,
Margaret & Edward S.

Cynthia,

The River Palace Hotel was great and you were absolutely right when you praised the remodel, it is an absolutely beautiful hotel! Everyone was extremely helpful and courteous. All the amenities one would expect in a nice hotel are there, but as one of the desk clerks put it, "You can find many nice rooms with bath in Rome, but service to our guests is why people like staying here". The location is what really makes this hotel a wonderful place to stay. Just a short walk to the beautiful gardens of Villa Borghese, Piazza Del Popolo, Via del Corso and the Spanish Steps and a Western Union office just a few doors down for very simple calls to home! And since Rome is such a flat city, all the other magnificent sights are very easily walked to, we never needed to take public transport.

The guided Vatican tour we arranged through you was probably the hi-lite of our trip. Or guide, William, spent almost 4 hours with us and his insights really allowed us to appreciate the history and magnificence of the Museum, St Peter's and the Sistine Chapel.

One last thing, travelers should be aware that returning a rental car to Rome's airport is tricky. The rental car agencies are located in the parking garages with very few signs to let you know that. Just follow the parking garage signs and as you get close signs will indicate which garage your agency is in.

Thanks again Cynthia for all of your help and your wonderful website!
