Sicilian Beachside Resort

OPEN YEAR-ROUND!

The beaches and crystal-clear waters of western Sicily are unparalleled for their beauty, purity and tranquility. If you wish to see the many wonders of this side of the island, and also reward yourself with some REAL rest and relaxation, what better way to do it than spending a few days in a comfortable hotel set right on the beach? On days when your goal is to sightsee, you can easily visit the 2500-year-old Doric temple at Segesta (8 km), the atmospheric medieval hill town of Erice (25 km), the classic provincial capital of Trapani (50 km), and of course the treasure-filled capital of Sicily itself, Palermo (which you can get to by bus). Also worth visiting in this part of Sicily are the DOC vineyards that produce Bianco D'Alcamo, and the spectacular Zingaro Nature Reserve (8 km), which provides one of the most picturesque and untouched shorelines in all Italy. Even the nearest town, modest little Alcamo, goes all the way back to the year 828 and has buildings that are centuries old. This northwestern corner of Sicily is less touristy than the eastern shore, its hill towns and fishing villages just a little more authentic, and its panoramas slightly more untouched. After a fascinating day immersing yourself in Sicilian culture, treat yourself to an invigorating dip in the pool or the sea, then settle back with an aperitivo while you watch the strong Sicilian sun set behind the rocks of San Vito Lo Capo. Any doubts you might have about Sicily being the Vacation Paradise of Italy will be dispelled before the first evening star begins twinkling on the horizon!

Location:

Right on the beach, in a quiet location about 3 km from the nearest towns, Alcamo and Castellamare. There are a few shops and restaurants within walking distance in the summertime. Palermo Punta Raisi Borsellino-Falcone Airport is less than half an hour's drive. You can easily make day trips from here to anywhere in the area between Palermo, Trapani and Marsala. Click here for a map.

Public Transportation:

A train or bus connect with Palermo Stazione Centrale. The bus stops about 200 yards from the hotel; the train is 1.5 km away. There is no public transportation from Trapani Airport.

Rooms: 26 on two floors, including single, double and triple rooms; as well as junior suites for two or three people. All rooms are furnished with bright Mediterranean colors and have a private bathroom with hydromassage shower or bathtub. Some are on the ground floor, and two are wheelchair-accessible. Junior suites are all one flight up and have a sitting area, a sleeping area, and a whirlpool shower in the bathroom, plus a balcony with sea view. There are also two suites with a sitting room, separate bedroom, bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and balcony with sea view. Double and triple rooms  do not have sea view. They face the rear part of the property, which is not on the road, but the junior suites with sea view and balcony are worth the extra money. Unless you have trouble with one flight of easy stairs, we also recommend the first-floor rooms because the views are better. There are some non-smoking rooms.

Features:

All rooms have air-conditioning, direct-dial telephone, satellite TV, wireless Internet connection, safe and mini bar. All sea view rooms have a balcony or patio. All bathrooms have a courtesy set and hair dryer. If you bring your laptop, ask the hotel for a local access number to use the modem.

Facilities:

Panoramic breakfast room and restaurant; cocktail bar; complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas on the private beach (beach towels are provided for 2 Euro/day); swimming pool (March-October); complimentary parking.
