Santa Margherita Garden

This charming family-run hotel is in the center of what many consider the loveliest town on the Italian Riviera: Santa Margherita. Certainly it is one of Italy's most colorful towns, with its pastel-decorated façades and generous banks of cheerful flowers blooming year-round. From Easter to October, this is a classic European seaside resort town, offering lively cafes, wonderful seafood restaurants, classy boutiques, and a constant parade of fun-loving visitors from around the globe. During the rest of the year, the mild climate makes it a perfect place for a winter getaway filled with long walks along the strand, leisurely afternoons with a good book, and romantic evenings under the stars. No matter when you choose to visit, this 200-year-old garden hotel awaits you because, unlike most lodgings on the Riviera, it is open year-round. If you want a place that offers traditional hotel services alongside a warm family-style reception, then this hotel will definitely be a wise choice for you.

Location: In the town center of Santa Margherita, just south of Genoa and between Rapallo and Portofino (about a 5km walk from the hotel). The harbor is just 100 yards away and the magnificent Villa Durazzo Park is right next door. Click here to see a map.

Public transportation: We recommend you visit this region by train; the station is about 10 minute's walk away and trains take 40 minutes to reach Genoa or the Cinque Terre towns, slightly longer for Sestri Levante, Lerici, Portovenere and La Spezia. From the nearby docks you can take a boat to Portofino, San Fruttuoso, Rapallo and the Cinque Terre towns.
