Villa Romana on the Amalfi Coast's Guestbook

Back to Villa Romana on the Amalfi Coast

Dear Jessica,

Our trip to Italy went almost without a hitch, from beginning (10/5/09) to end (10/16/090. Arrived at Napoli & went to pick up our Alfa Romeo 159 at "Sicily by car." It is a small agency & they did not have the promised car, only a too small model (4 people w/luggage), but promised to send the full sized car to our hotel when it was returned to them. Danielle lived up to her promise & delivered the car to Minori, at Villa Romana, a very nice moderate-priced Amalfi coast hotel. Stayed there for 5 nites & explored the great seaside towns of Amalfi, Positano, etc, then my grandfather's hometown of Palomonte. From there we drove north for the Self-Guided Southern Tuscany Tour. It was more than expected. Silvano at Val D'Orcia Country House was as wonderful host & showed us around Montalcino, fed & wined us as family. Next we went to B&B Casa Di Pienza, a very nice small hotel 1 block from Pienza, where Gloria's family were very cordial. To wind up the trip, we went to Florence & stayed at a beautiful hotel very close to the airport so that we could spend one day in Firenze! Not enough time in a world-class city, but had been there before. Cannot find one fault with our hosts, nor the planning help by Initaly.com. Hope to repeat next year.

Dear Kirill,

Thanks for the email - Ancient Walls of Sorrento was very beautiful and was a great place to stay.

Hotel Villa Romana had great evening meals. Climbing the stairs from Minori to Ravello is a breathtaking, in all senses of the word, experience and I would recommend it for those without any heart problems! Bar Gambardello across from Hotel Villa Romana is a little gem with wonderful pastries and they serve a good crisp white wine in the evening with little pieces of pizza on the side - also good coffee.

Thanks for your interest,
Jenny
