Similar to all the hotels we like in Venice, this one is tiny! It was entirely remodeled in the year 2000, replacing old bathrooms, furniture and upholstery, and restoring the original marble floors and details. The very friendly staff (something you will not always encounter in Venice...) makes it feel like a home away from home, and its excellent location puts it close to the attractions yet away from the madness surrounding many other centrally-situated hotels.

Location: On the border between the San Marco and Castello sestrieri, about a five-minute walk from St. Mark's Square and vaporetto and a 10-minute walk from the Rialto vaporetto. There is also an apartment featuring living room with double sleep sofa, kitchen, two bedrooms that can have one queen bed or two single beds each, and a bathroom with stall shower. A few very popular rooms have views across the rooftops to St. Mark's.   Features: All the rooms have parquet or carpeted floors, nice big windows, typical Venetian antique furniture, damask spreads and drapes. All have air conditioning, satellite TV, wireless Internet access, safe, and mini-bar, and a private bathroom with courtesy set, hair dryer and stall shower.   Facilities: Elevator, 10% discount on parking at Piazzale Roma, free entrance to the Venice Casino.
