Five years ago we helped a young American woman plan an extended trip throughout Italy. That memorable journey turned into a fairy tale on the shores of Lake Como, when Kate met Nico and they fell in love. Today they are married and continuing their romantic idyll in a charming stone-and-stucco cottage that they have furnished with a combination of good taste, colorful fancy and careful attention to detail. They invite you to share their adventure by choosing this small piece of heaven as your base for exploring this gorgeous part of Italy.
Lake Como Vistas is not your typical resort hotel by a long shot. Actually, it's not even a hotel at all! It's a true home, one that manages to feel spacious and cozy at the same time. Surrounding it are sub-alpine forests where mushrooms grow after every rainfall. Overhead are the snow-capped mountains, while straight down below are the pastel-hued homes, the cheerful banks of flowers, the palatial villas and the gleaming silver waters of the lake. All of this is on view outside your window, from your patio, or from the hiking paths that criss-cross the hills surrounding the lake. You will have to drive a short, steep and windy road to get here, but the peace and quiet, the warm welcome, the comfortable modern lodgings and the unforgettable panorama will make it well worth your while!
Accommodations here are in three guestrooms and one apartment, all named for local grape varietals. They are beautifully appointed with hardwood floors, large double-glazed windows, brand-new stylish furnishings, high-end linens, a big wardrobe, minibar, tea and coffee accessories and many amenities such as air conditioning and wireless Internet access. Every room has its own private bathroom featuring a tiled glass-enclosed shower with handheld and fixed wall showerhead, as well as a hair dryer. On the ground floor are Nebieul and Ciùvinasca, each offering stunning lake views plus a double bed and a separate entrance from the shared patio.
The setting upstairs is a bit more rustic but the rooms themselves are as modern as those downstairs. Sanzvés,
which has tranquil mountain views, features wood-beam ceilings and a travertine-lined shower. It is next door
to Niurumaru, which boasts lake views from every room. It has two balconies, a living room with L-shaped
sofa, DVD player and satellite TV, and a stunning modern kitchen with full fridge, oven, four-burner range,
small dishwasher, toaster, electric skillet, American coffeemaker, tea kettle and all the dishes and cookware
you'll need to make a yummy Italian meal. A foldaway bed can easily be added to the living room, so if your
group numbers 4 or 5, you can take Sanzvés and Niurumaru and have this entire floor to
yourselves. But whether you choose the apartment or a guestroom, we hope you will be able to spend a few days
in this very special place. Your hosts will be delighted to help you plan many wonderful days filled with
the glories of beautiful Lake Como.

Breakfast is not served at Lake Como Vistas. You are welcome to enjoy a full buffet breakfast at a lakeside hotel ten minutes away for 10 Euro/person. In the nearest town, about a 5-minute walk from the property, you will find a small general store and a bar/pizzeria/restaurant. The fast ferry from Como stops here a few times each day. Larger shops, a supermarket and more restaurants are in Bellagio (6 km) and Como town (23 km). A circular ferry travels between Bellagio/Menaggio/Varenna and Cadenabbia; most of these also take cars. It is possible to stay here without a car but there is a 10-minute walk up and down a very steep hill
to get here. The hill is very well-lit and safe, but not ideal for large cars or inexperienced drivers. Please note that it is not possible to guarantee Internet access at any property, because the property does not generate the service, it merely provides access from a server. If the server experiences any kind of problem at all, the property regrets it cannot be responsible for any inconvenience caused by subsequent lack of service. |
