First, imagine yourself in the center of a medieval hamlet in the Tuscan countryside. Second, imagine picture perfect 360° views across the valleys to the vine-covered hills. Third, imagine a small exclusive historical residence, with only six rooms. Fourth, imagine you are in a watchtower that began life in the 16th century as a monastic complex and later became housing for the seminary of Volterra. No, you are not dreaming. What you're picturing is a newly restored and very historical hotel in the charming town of Casole d'Elsa!

Antica Torre Toscana offers the silence, quiet, and relaxation of the countryside, together with easy access to the main historical-cultural sites in the surrounding towns. San Gimignano is only 15 minutes away. The village of Casole d'Elsa offers small artisan shops, typical gastronomical products, a summer season with plenty of musical and cultural events, restaurants with dishes and wine of the local tradition, and an important archeological museum. In recent years, scores of well-known international artists have also contributed their artful murals and sculptures to the outskirts, creating a colorful welcome mat for guests as they come home from their sightseeing each day.

Inside the Antica Torre Toscana historical residence, guests can soak up the intimate atmosphere of a cozy drawing room, a living room complete with fireplace, and a refreshment corner where non-alcoholic beverages are provided to guests free of charge. From the terrace one can watch the sun set across the pristine Tuscan countryside. A dining room located on the premises provides a rich buffet breakfast in the morning and also serves as a restaurant where guests who reserve ahead can enjoy gourmet dinners consisting of antipasto, first course, second course, vegetable, and dessert. Menus change daily based on seasonal availability and are prepared by an expert local chef. It is also possible to reserve for cold lunches. Uncovered parking is provided free of charge and, miracle of all miracles, there is even a hot tub on the hill right below the tower!

The six rooms all have satellite TV, direct-dial telephone with modem plug, air conditioning, heating, and wall safe. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms with Jacuzzi shower or bathtub, blow dryers, and American adapters. There are three double rooms. Room Two, eight steps up from the ground and features the original tower wall, a huge picture window, a kingsize bed, table and chairs, wardrobe, and bathroom with double massage shower. Room Three is on the next floor, with a tall cathedral ceiling, kingsize bed, single sleep sofa, desk and bathroom with whirlpool bathtub. Also on this level is Room Four, with a towering beamed ceiling, wall frescoes, kingsize bed and bathroom with massage shower. This level is completed by a public sitting room, Internet point, and terrace.

Up we go again to the deluxe rooms! From your private elevator entrance you walk up 8 steps to Room Five, a circular room with three windows, two armchairs, a table, and queen bed. The en suite bathroom with massage shower and wardrobe is downstairs. Take the elevator up one flight more and you step out into Room Six, which is very hard to describe! On its lower level is a bathroom with massage shower. A few steps down is the master bedroom, with kingsize bed and three windows, while around the corner from the elevator is a spiral staircase up to a loft that has a single sofa bed. Although this room has no door, it is around two corners and up two levels from the bedroom, so that a good amount of privacy is afforded.

The last deluxe room, Room Seven, is probably the most spacious, and offers no less than four windows. It has a bedroom with kingsize bed and, through a large open archway, a sitting area with single sofabed. The big en suite bathroom has a massage shower. An interesting characteristic of the building is that due to the layout, all rooms can be accessed either from the hotel's main entrance or directly from outside private doors. For this reason all guests are given their own keys for the period of their stay.
