Villa Il Tesoro's Guestbook

Back to Villa Il Tesoro

Dear In Italy,

We had a wonderful time in Italy and I’m sorry to say it is over. I would definitely recommend anyone staying at Il Tesoro in Massa Marittima. The service, accommodations and views were wonderful and the food was great but at dinner I found they were trying a bit too hard to be different or creative. We did go to a very good restaurant in the old town of Massa marittima called Taverna del Vecchio Borgo and it was very good. Just be careful as the owners do not speak any English at all. We found that there were a lot of Austrian and Swiss visiting the area, so at the restaurant they were very helpful. Our Vatican guide that you arranged for us in Roma was wonderful and his name is Kieran, an Irishman living and studying in Italy. His wealth of history is amazing and he was able to bring the history of city alive. We are so very happy we arranged that private tour albeit a bit expensive. Overall we were very happy with your services and I would highly recommend your company to friends in the future.

Ciao,
Brenda P.

Good Morning In Italy:

I wanted to thank you on behalf of myself and my new wife for a fantastic trip!

Every place we stayed was amazing. One of our favorites was Villa Il Tesoro at the end.

The villa and staff were by far the friendliest and most accommodating we have ever experienced!

The small town of Montaione was incredible as well. The people at Palazzo Mannaioni and the restaurant were memorable... The food at the restaurant was the BEST Italian food, and a must is to have Tirmisu after dinner...

Thank you again for all your help. You and your staff made this honeymoon the most romantic experience any new couple could dream of!!

Tante Grazie
Jeffrey S.

PS. although the trip was amazing my spelling of these Italian words never improved....

In Italy:

Well we have been home from our trip (08-06) for a couple of months and we speak of how wonderful it was often. This was the first time I did a majority of our planning on the internet and was taking a blind leap of faith that our reservations would indeed be honored. Well I must say that I rave about your website to all my friends. Every hotel we stayed in booked through you was as we expected. The very nice Villa Il Tesoro in Massa Marittima: an excellent getaway, truly wonderful 5-star food and service...you never have to leave the hotel because the grounds are so nice. Very Pricey but well worth every penny...get a junior suite because the vineyards are literally outside the patio door. Beautiful outdoor bar, vineyards to walk through and a wine tasting room, and nice pool. A place to go, relax and not do anything except enjoy the surroundings. Some of the best food we got in Italy.

I reserved and paid for my museum tickets through your website also and each and every time they were waiting for me with my name on them. No waiting for them. We also used you driver service from the Rome airport to our hotel which went pretty smooth although we did have to wait about 30 minutes after picking up our luggage to leave because we had to wait for other flights to arrive. All and all your website was the best website for actually researching and booking hotels and attractions that I have every used.True to life pictures and information. Keep up the good work. Food was great in Italy but the best gelato was a place called Chocolate in Milan not far from where you see the Last Supper..we stumbled upon it while walking around waiting for our time slot....absolutely the best we tried and we tried probably 25 of them.

Thanks again for everything,
Lauren S.

Dear In Italy.

Italy was wonderful and we owe it all to In Italy Online! Everything went off without a hitch. Villa Il Tesoro was my wife's dream come true! It was right out of a movie, with rolling Tuscan hills, vineyards, olive groves and sunflower fields. The outdoor bar overlooking the countryside was perfect, and the three hour dinners at the restaurant were magnificent. Some highlights include Gitano the bartender at Villa Il Tesoro. Make sure you ask for the garlic snacks! Garlic gloves made mild with vinegar then soaked in sunflower oil and spices. Delicious! Also, the little town of Massa Maritima. A charming old hillside town with wonderful restaurants. Be sure to try the Porchetta! And of course Roma! Visit the open air market at Piazza Campo di Fiore, buy some grapes and yellow plums, then go and sit on the Spanish Steps at Piazza di Spagna and people watch. Or sit at a little cafe at the Trevi fountain or the Pantheon and enjoy a bottle of wine and some bruschetta.

Special thanks goes to Kristin who was so helpful and patient while we made our plans. She answered all our questions and put up with our changing our minds a few times on the hotel rooms and rental car model. Kristin made sure we got what we wanted, that we had all our paperwork, and it all came together beautifully! I've already recommended In Italy Online to several people.

Italy was absolutely wonderful and we hope to return. And of course, it will be with the help of In Italy Online!

Sincerely,
Mark & Missy B.

Dear In Italy Online,

We booked two unique accommodations with you for our recent trip to Tuscany, and each was a delight in its own way. The second was Villa Il Tesoro which was a phenomenally beautiful destination. We had high expectations for the place based on the description and pictures on your site, but these expectations were immediately exceeded! The facility is beautifully restored and decorated with exquisite taste, and the service is extremely attentive. Be sure to have a drink in their great little onsite bar (set in a corner of one of the beautiful common rooms) and meet their bartender Gaetano who is wonderfully charming and engaging.

Both of these properties were lovely, charming and somewhat remote and we felt very lucky to have identified them through In Italy Online prior to landing in Italy as we would have never found them otherwise!

Thanks again,
Scott K.

Dear In Italy,

First let me say "wow"...we had a marvelous trip. Villa Il Tesoro truly lives up to its name...it is a treasure. The property is phenomenal, the villas are luxurious, everything inside and out were more than imaginable...but the staff made everything perfect. And the town of Massa Maritimma is a charming city with quaint shops and restaurants. We were truly pampered the entire time...we hated to leave...but look forward to returning again, and again and again! Grazie!

As always...we tell all our friends about your website and will continue to use your fine services.

Thank you so much for everything!
Kim and Rick P.

Dear In Italy,

Everything was wonderful, I can’t say enough about the service that your company provided...AAA+++.

The Villa Il Tesoro was the gem of the trip. By far the most elegant and well managed B&B we have ever visited. The staff was amazing, the room was fantastic. We had ordered a Jr Suite and we were upgraded to a full suite at no additional charge. We had massages, the food was great and the wine to die for. If any of your clients visit the area this is a must stay property. We look forward to returning to the Villa and are currently ordering more wine. The Maitre D'Hotel was Maurizo Tola he made the stay extra special with a wine tasting and a great manner.

Really special.

I will forward some photos of special places and unique finds next week.

Thanx again,
Lewis R.

Dear In Italy,

We truly enjoyed our visit. Villa Il Tesoro was beautiful, the staff was especially helpful, often going out of their way to make our visit better, telling us their favorite places in the area to visit, etc.

Apart from the usual day trips, we especially enjoyed the seaside towns of Porto Santo Stefano & just taking the coast road, stopping at all the sites along the way.

Thanks for following up.

David-

Villa Il Tesoro was great. The staff was quite helpful and always courteous. By far, the best part was the food. We had a great seven-course dinner off the chef's menu on our first night and it was less than 100 euro, including wine. It was by far the best dinner we had during our ten days in Italy and made the rest of our dinners in Venice and Rome pale in comparison, both in terms of taste and price!

It took us a bit longer to get there from FCO than the 90 minutes listed on the website--closer 2 1/2 hours, including one small 15 minute detour where we got off the highway too early and 10 minutes at the end when we had to backtrack after missing the sign outside Valpiana.

We spent one afternoon/evening at the beach in nearby Follonica and had a great time there. Villa Il Tesoro is definitely the place to go if you want to slow down and isolate yourself from the busy outside world...definitely not the place to be if you want to find a party late into the night.

However, this kind of quiet getaway was the perfect thing for the first part of our honeymoon. Thanks for helping us find it! We have other friends looking to honeymoon in Italy and will definitely point them your way!

Regards,
James and Bahareh B.
