These apartments, new in 2005, are in a glamorous 19th-century mansion that couldn't be in a better location. The building fronts onto the River Arno, just across from Piazzale Michelangelo, the broad terrace overlooking Florence that you've seen in so many films. Right behind the building is Santa Croce, a beloved local meeting place filled with cafes, eateries and a most dazzling Renaissance church. All the city's major sites - the cathedral, Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, shopping district, Medici Chapels and Palazzo Pitti - are within easy walking distance, plus the location is only a few yards from one of the main thoroughfares into and out of Florence.
There are sixteen apartments on the three floors of the residence. Each of them is furnished with modern Italian furniture and terracotta or parquet floors. Many have high ceilings and large floor-to-ceiling windows. All are spacious and sunny and have a marble bathroom with stall shower. Studios are on the ground floor, measure 195 square feet, and have one large room with a kitchenette and a queen bed (no single beds). One-bedroom apartments for two people are on all floors, face the inner courtyard and measure 300 square feet. They have a living room with kitchenette, and a bedroom with a queen bed (no single beds). The larger one-bedroom apartments measure 515 square feet, are on all floors and face the Arno. They have a big living room with kitchenette, one queen sofa bed and one single sofa bed, and a bedroom with a queen bed or two single beds. There are also two two-bedroom apartments. One is on the first floor, while the other measures 540 square feet and is on the top floor. It has a living room with separate kitchenette, plus a terrace with views of the whole city. The beds in the bedrooms can be queen or two singles, and there is also a single sofa bed in the living room. Amenities in all the apartments include independent heating and air conditioning, telephone with Internet access, video doorbell, and TV. Kitchenettes are stocked with a mini-fridge, cooktop, toaster, and American coffee maker. Hair dryers are available at the front desk, which is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm. The residence also has a shared laundry room, as well as private parking, and pay parking is available in the square just in front of the mansion.
