Whether you are a culture vulture or a people watcher or a night owl or a light sleeper, this location is perfect for you. Just around the corner from Piazza Navona, it is close to all the Baroque sites of the city. Only two blocks away are three of the trendiest cafés in town, where you can read the morning paper over a cappuccino, or sip an aperitivo before dinner, or enjoy a cocktail until 3am. But don't worry about the noise, because your apartment is on an almost unknown alley, so short and winding and narrow that not even a motorbike can traverse it, and this wonder of medieval urban planning (or lack thereof) also effectively manages to block all the noise from the movable feast down the street. During the day, that same corner offers a newsstand with international periodicals, as well as one of Rome's best grocery shops and an excellent outdoor produce market. In many ways, this bustling enclave, with its mix of eccentric locals and happy foreigners, is much the same as it was in the 1400s, when millions of pilgrims walked the length of Europe to see the Pope and sought shelter in the many inns that occupied the very same buildings that stand here today. Take a 20th-century elevator to the second floor of one of them, and you will find this wonderful apartment.

As soon as you open the 500-year-old front door, you will find yourselves in the living room, whose soaring ceilings are lined with impeccably restored casements and wood beams. Here and there you'll find nooks and crannies in the walls, left over from the time when this was part of a watchtower. The floors are covered with modern parquet; sunlight streams in through the tall Roman windows. The room is furnished with a couch, two armchairs, a desk, a dining table for 6, and a bookcase which holds a TV (Italian channels only). A short hall leads to the kitchen, which is small but brand new, equipped with a full fridge, gas range and oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle.  The apartment is completed by two bedrooms, one with queen bed and one with two twins or one king, and two hall bathrooms with stall shower and washing machine.
