We've just returned from Italy. I wanted to let the folks at "In Italy" know that everything associated with our lodgings in Florence and Rome went like clockwork. In fact, better than that. Neither Cristiano in Florence (Duomo Apartments) nor Hassan in Rome could have been more helpful. Cristiano was very attentive to our needs, made sure the carpark was taken care of, went to great pains to explain how everything worked and even made some dinner reservations for us after questioning where we were going to have dinner.
Both Marco and Hassan in Rome were not only expecting us but Hassan was waiting for us at the apartment. Marco advised us initially that the car could not be driven to the apt. entrance - very dismaying with six suitcases four of which weighed in at 50 lbs. ea! Hassan, however, met us in the Piazza Fiorio and led us through non-drivable streets right to the front door - with only inches to spare. He became very dismayed when he saw the suitcases - only because the youngest of our foursome is 64 years old, the oldest 75. Vatican Vistas is accessible ONLY via a five-foot-in-diameter twisting staircase TO THE FIFTH FLOOR. Remember those suitcases and the ages!! Hassan took it upon himself to get all the suitcases up the stairs AND THEN insisted we call him for assistance upon leaving! Topping that off I almost had to arm wrestle him to get him to take some appreciation for his efforts. An absolutely wonderful caring person - and he did come to help us leave, taking all the suitcases back down again. He had also offered his cell phone number to us for any questions during our stay. Quite frankly, we could not have stayed at Vatican Vistas without his help.
We will use In Italy again, all else went so well.
