If you're an independent traveler with one day or even only part of a day to see this gorgeous part of Italy, a great way to get around is the classic red London-style double-decker bus. You have two options:
those staying in Sorrento (or who take the easy commuter train ride from Naples) can thrill to world-famous views on the Discovery of Two Bays, which wends its way along the coast to the headlands facing Capri, then back over the hills to Sant'Agata and Sorrento. Photo opportunities are limitless at any of the 7 stops; if you purchase your ticket online, you can board the bus at any of them. You can get on and off as much as you want, but if you get on and stay on, the route takes just under two hours. On board, your hostess will give you disposable earphones for an audio guide in 8 languages (Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Russian). Available April 2-October 31. Your ticket is valid for 6 hours and becomes valid when you board the first bus. They cost 15 Euro/adult; 7.50 Euro/child 5-15 years old; accompanied children 0-4 years old ride free of charge.
All buses are wheelchair accessible.
This service is not available on Christmas or New Years days. Tickets become valid when you board the first bus. They cost 20 Euro/adult; 10 Euro/child 5-15 years old; accompanied children 0-4 years old ride free of charge.
